The U.S. Navy confirmed today that the USS Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) entered the South China Sea on April 4 in order to conduct routine operations.
The U.S. Navy added that this is the second time the USS Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group has entered the South China Sea during its deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in 2021.
The USS Roosevelt Strike Group also entered the South China Sea at the end of January, with the 7th Fleet saying its purpose was to “ensure freedom of navigation and create partnerships that contribute to maritime security.
