June 4 this year, insist on entering Victoria Park to light the candle

As in the past, in the Qingming Festival to lay flowers for the June 4 victims, but because this year the Tsim Sha Tsui Cultural Center does not lend the venue, the location moved outside the Government headquarters. Chairman Lee Cheuk-yan said that the Alliance has applied to the police to organize this year’s June 4 rally and march, although it is unknown whether it will be approved, but the Alliance will insist on June 4 candlelight in Victoria Park, “even if there is no rally, can’t everyone walk in and find a place to burn candles?”

Lee Cheuk-yan, Albert Ho, the Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China (HKASPDMC), Zou Xingtong, and the Standing Committee member, Leung Kam-wai, in a group of two, laid a white basket of flowers at the monument to the martyrs of democracy hanging outside the CGCC, and then bowed three times in tribute. The Tiananmen Mothers’ Movement, the Labor Party, the League of Social Democrats, the Justice and Peace Commission of the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese, and other organizations all laid baskets. Some people brought their own white flowers to pay tribute, which were placed in a water bottle with the words “Hong Kong People Go”.

Nearly 30 police officers were on guard at the scene, and there were also police flag bearers present. The police have warned her repeatedly that she has lit joss sticks, burned yuanbao and sprinkled money in the direction of the police and the CPG.

Lee Cheuk-yan and Vice Chairman Albert Ho were convicted of organizing and participating in an unauthorized assembly in the 8.18 Victoria Park rally case last week, and may face imprisonment, and will plead for mercy and sentencing on April 16. If sentenced to prison, it is possible to miss this year’s June 4 rally. Albert Ho said that if he is imprisoned on June 4 this year, he will continue to mourn in prison, and expects the government to use various ways to suppress the June 4 mourning activities afterwards. But he said that as long as people’s hearts do not die, with hope, mourners will still come together.

Lee Cheuk-yan also said he was not optimistic about the sentence, and was psychologically prepared to be remanded on the same day, once imprisoned, what he could not let go of was the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, and the June 4 party held without interruption for 31 years.

He also said that today’s Hong Kong makes him feel the atmosphere of political slaughter and suppression during the 1989 pro-democracy movement, when Hong Kong people lost their freedom and encountered political suppression, they also have to shout “release the pro-democracy activists” and “release the political prisoners”, on the other hand, China’s human rights have been regressing. On the other hand, human rights in China have been regressing. This year, the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China (HKASPDMC) has adopted the slogan “Fighting for freedom and common destiny”, calling on Hong Kong people and the Chinese people to share the same fate under the dictatorship and to continue fighting for freedom.

During the mourning activity, near the CITIC Building opposite the CGCC, a group held a banner and shouted slogans such as “may violate the national security law” and “break the June 4 scam”. The company’s response was that the world had seen people die from gunfire and being run over by tanks, and that “if anyone thinks that June 4 is a hoax, they should ask the Communist Party to come out and announce how many people died.”
