Hong Kong people support the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China (HKASPDMC) to lay flowers for the victims of the June 4 massacre outside the government headquarters on Sunday, the Ching Ming Festival, and said that they will apply for the June 4 march and rally as usual this year.
The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China (HKASPDMC) Chairman Lee Cheuk-yan, Vice Chairman Albert Ho, Zou Xingtong, and Standing Committee member Leung Kam-wai, etc., on the 4th, a group of two people laid a white basket of flowers at the “Democracy Martyrs Monument Curtain” hanging outside the government headquarters, and then bowed three times in tribute.
Hong Kong Alliance in Support of the United Nations President Lee Cheuk-yan said, has applied to the police June 4 rally and march. He insisted that the June 4 candlelight mourning will still be held in Victoria Park this year.
This year is the 32nd anniversary of the June 4 massacre in Tiananmen Square, with the theme “For freedom, common destiny, common struggle”.
Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China (HKASPDMC) President Lee Cheuk-yan: “We call on the people of Hong Kong to see that the people of Hong Kong and the people of China share a common destiny under the dictatorship, and that we continue to fight together for our freedom.”
After the Chinese Communist Party forced through and implemented the Hong Kong version of the National Security Law last year, Lee Cheuk-yan and Albert Ho were convicted last week for the “8.18 rally in Victoria Park” and may miss this year’s June 4 rally if they are sentenced.
The Alliance also said that even if the police do not approve the rally and march, people are still advised to prepare their own candlelight and go to the Victoria Park to mourn the June 4 Incident.
