A series of serious traffic accidents were reported during the Qingming Festival in China, when a Chinese fishing boat sank in the waters of Zhoushan Islands in the early morning of April 4, killing at least 12 people. At least 11 people were killed in a major traffic accident on the Yancheng section of the Shenhai Expressway in Jiangsu Province.
At 1:00 a.m. on April 4, a large truck (Liao B-3Y69 hanging) collided with a bus (Shanghai D-L4452) after crossing the central guardrail, causing the bus to overturn and interrupting the traffic at the scene in one direction. Subsequently, the rear of the 2 trucks and the rear-end collision occurred one after another.
According to mainland media reports, verified by the Jiangsu Comprehensive Traffic Law Enforcement Bureau and Yancheng Public Security Bureau and other departments, as of noon on the 4th, the accident has caused 11 deaths and 19 people were injured.
It is reported that the bus (Shanghai D-L4452) is a shuttle bus from Shanghai to Gouyun County, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, and the company to which the vehicle belongs is Shanghai New Metropolitan Passenger Transport Co. The truck was not overloaded, and the reason for crossing the central guardrail is yet to be investigated.
According to the CCTV report, 4:00 am, a Chinese fishing boat of Jiangsu origin, in the Zhoushan Islands sea about 100 nautical miles east of Zhujiajian sank, with about 20 people on board. As of 3 p.m. today, 12 people have no signs of life, and another four people are still missing.
