NBA Legend: Politicians Want Black White People to Hate Each Other

Former NBA star and current TNT sports commentator Charles Barkley’s comments while covering the NCAA Final Four men’s basketball game on Saturday, April 3, drew attention and were widely reported.

When it was his turn to express his opinion, Barkley said bluntly, “To be fair, I think most people are great whether they’re white or black.” But he argued that “politicians now, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are making the American system so that blacks and whites don’t like each other, so that they can facilitate their continued hold on money and power.”

Buckley further stated, “They are polarizing among us so that they can control us. I believe we are all good, but foolishly subservient to the politicians. They think that we don’t live in the same neighborhoods as they do, that they’re all rich, and they make whites and blacks incompatible with each other, and they make the rich and the poor incompatible with each other, while they compete for the middle class.” Buckley said, “I really think so.”

Barkley, who is known for his outspokenness, has blasted professional athletes for turning the topic of racism into a “circus,” Fox News said.

U.S. media outlet The Daily Caller reported that Barkley is known as an NBA legend, and his criticism of America’s divisiveness is refreshing.

Right-wing media outlet Gateway Pundit believes that Barkley dropped a truth bomb on dirty and divisive politicians.

Many American netizens also strongly agree with Buckley, with one stating, “We should stop obsessing over which political party, politicians are dividing and conquering, and we are the divided part. Just be an American, for America, for the Constitution, for our survival in the future.”

Barkley, a former professional basketball player in the NBA league, is widely considered one of the most dominant power forward players in league history, having represented Team USA at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, helping the U.S. win two Olympic gold medals. Unfortunately, Barkley failed to win an NBA championship in his career because he was in the same era as the divine basketball star Michael Jordan.
