Defending Joe State’s election reform, Republicans make big comeback, also play boycott card

Former U.S. President Donald Trump addresses the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida on Feb. 28, 2021

Recently, with the public support of Joe Biden and led by Major League Baseball (MLB), several major corporations announced a boycott of the Joe State New Election Act. In response, Trump called on conservatives to boycott these companies for “interfering with fair elections,” and Republican lawmakers sharply questioned Biden about his courage to boycott the Beijing Winter Olympics, hosted by the Chinese Communist Party, which is committing genocide in Xinjiang.

Recently, a “boycott” war has been waged between the left and right of the U.S., led by incumbent President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, over election reform in Georgia.

Following a statement issued last Friday (April 2) through the Save America PAC, calling on the American people to boycott MLB, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines and other major companies that interfere with election reform in Joe’s state, Trump issued another statement on Saturday, condemning the left for interfering with a free and fair election system. In his latest statement, Trump pointed out that

In his latest statement, Trump noted that radical left-wing Democrats have been playing dirty for years, boycotting the products of any corporation that offends them with any statement or action, “and now they are playing high on the ‘awakening to cancel culture’ and our sacred elections ” (Now they are going big time with WOKE CANCEL CULTURE and our sacred elections.)

On Friday, MLB President Rob Manfred announced to the public that MLB has decided to pull the All-Star Game out of the state of Joe as a way to boycott the new voting bill that Joe signed just last week. In addition, Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola and other major companies have also issued statements criticizing Joe State’s new election reform law.

Gov. Brian Kemp signed the bill late last month. The bill requires voters to provide photo identification (ID), among other requirements, when voting absentee. The bill also calls for increased security at the ballot box and limits on early voting dates, among other things.

Republicans stressed that these legal provisions will restore confidence in the state’s elections. Earlier, Trump also released a statement on election fraud, re-emphasizing the existence of massive fraud in the 2020 presidential election. The statement emphasized that while the fake news media always says that such allegations are baseless, there are more and more facts about election fraud that are coming to light as time goes on.

However, Democratic Party dignitaries and pro-Democratic Party media continue to deny the existence of large-scale fraud in the 2020 election on the one hand, and criticize the new election reform bill in Joe State, which will restrict the voting rights of some people, for alleged racial discrimination on the other.

In fact, Biden said publicly in an interview with U.S. media last Wednesday that he would “strongly support” MLB’s move of the All-Star Game out of Georgia. Biden said, “I think the professional athletes acted today and took their responsibility. I will strongly support them to do so”.

Former President Barack Obama, a Democrat, also tweeted on Saturday, publicly applauding MLB’s decision to boycott the Joe State Election Reform Act.

Kemp, on the other hand, publicly criticized Biden, Delta, Coca-Cola and MLB for doing so at a press conference on Saturday, saying they did not read Joe’s new bill carefully but “gave in to the intimidation and lies of radical activists”. For example, Biden accused Joe’s election reform law of requiring polling places to close by 5 p.m., when in fact the reform bill extends voting hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Responding to an inquiry about Joe State’s SB202 (election reform) bill via email on March 27, Kemp emphasized that “this bill expands voting rights, simplifies the counting process and ensures the integrity of elections.”

In response to Biden’s public support for MLB’s boycott of Georgia’s new election law, several Republican members of Congress have taken counter action.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, tweeted on Friday, asking, “Hey Joe Biden, will you boycott the Beijing Olympics because of genocide? Or do you just want to hurt the small businesses in Atlanta that are planning to (benefit from) the All-Star Game?” He stressed that Americans are tired of these “wake-up” boycotts and that MLB is a disgrace.

Crenshaw’s tweet refers to the word “woke,” which originally meant to wake up after going to sleep, but has now been given a political or cultural meaning of “awakening” or “alertness. “The word has been widely used in the Black Lives Matter movement to express the political consciousness of African-Americans about issues such as racial injustice.

On the same day, Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) also tweeted that the same week MLB announced it was pulling the All-Star Game from Georgia, it also announced a partnership agreement with a company (meaning Tencent) backed by the genocidal Chinese Communist Party. Rubio questioned, “Why are we still listening to these ‘awakened’ corporate hypocrites on taxes, regulations & anti-trust?”
