The Taiwan Air Force (TAF) issued a communist aircraft update on April 3, in which a transport 8 anti-submarine aircraft violated Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone (ADIZ) in the afternoon; the air force dispatched air patrol forces to respond, broadcast repulsions, and track and monitor anti-aircraft missiles.
China Central Television News App reported that afternoon that Xi Jinping, in his capacity as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, was “highly concerned about the April 2 train derailment in Taiwan that caused major casualties, and expressed deep condolences to the compatriots killed, sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured compatriots, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.”
Taiwan’s Central News Agency news agency said that Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has been releasing news of PLA aircraft in the “Instant Military News” section of its official website since Sept. 17 last year. Taiwan and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a maritime patrol working group on March 26.
