On April 2, Baicheng County, Xinjiang suffered the highest snowfall not seen in 60 years since meteorological records began, with a snow depth of 36.9 cm. The local meteorological department issued a red warning of snowstorm. At present, the heating in the urban areas of Baicheng County all stopped, and residents had to fight the disaster in the cold. This is another disaster after the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Baicheng County on March 24.
According to local media reports, at 1:00 am on April 2, snow began to fall in Baicheng County, Xinjiang, and the snow depth was 36.9 cm. The snowfall is the highest snowfall record in 60 years since the meteorological records of Baicheng County. The local meteorological department issued a red alert for snowstorm. The temperature in Bay County will continue to drop after this snowfall ends.
According to reports, 218 households with 694 people affected by the 5.4 magnitude earthquake in Baicheng County, Xinjiang on March 24 were moved to urban resettlement sites. The resettlement sites have all resumed centralized heating after the snowfall.
It is reported that on March 27, the local daily maximum temperature rose to about 19℃. After that, the temperature plunged all the way down and entered a severe winter.
The video released by netizens shows that the sudden fall of goose feather snow in Baicheng County, Xinjiang, the road, trees, roofs, cars have accumulated a thick snow.
