Celebrity Column: U.S. Must Be Wary of Communist China’s Bacterial Weapons Research

The Chinese Communist Party is adept at concealing massacres. The CCP has no memorial to the millions who starved to death in the Great Leap Forward under Mao Zedong in the 1960s, nor is there a monument to those slaughtered in Tiananmen Square. Now, the CCP is covering up the origins of COVID-19 (Communist China virus, Wuhan virus), which has killed 2.7 million people so far.

The ploy is evident throughout the joint report by the World Health Organization and the Chinese Communist Party on the origin of the virus, which was released Monday. China (CCP) has banned international scientists from collecting data, inspecting laboratories, examining medical records, and even from having unsupervised conversations with Chinese scientists. The WHO even gave the CCP veto power over the contents of the report. The purpose of these ploys is to cover up the truth.

The report suggests that the virus may have spread from bats to another animal species (which has not been determined despite testing thousands of animals) and then to humans in the city of Wuhan.

A tragic natural event occurred in precisely the only city in China with a maximum security virus laboratory.

Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, doesn’t buy the report. He says the most likely scenario is that the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab. International investigators have been barred from confirming this, despite overwhelming circumstantial evidence to support the claim.

Scientists at the Wuhan Institute collected virus samples from the bat cave, including the virus most closely associated with the cause of COVID-19. In the lab, scientists used genetically modified mice to have human-like lungs and infected those mice with the virus.

In the fall of 2019, just before the outbreak, the Wuhan Institute pulled its virus data from the Internet, according to MIT Technology Review. The institute did this to hide the evidence.

The WHO-China report concluded that the lab leak was a “highly unlikely” explanation for the pandemic because lab accidents are “rare” events. That’s ridiculous! They are not rare. In 2018, U.S. Embassy personnel in Beijing alerted the State Department to the low security standards at the Wuhan Institute, but China refused international oversight.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned that “most indications point to the Wuhan Institute of Virology as the source of COVID-19.”

Although Pompeo implied it was an accident, the Chinese researchers admitted that their research targeted biological weapons, including “race-specific” viruses. This is frightening.

The United States must be prepared for this threat. Biological warfare is a top priority for Chinese Communist Party President Xi Jinping. And defending against it must be a top priority for the United States.

Yet, politicians in Washington dawdle and are complacent. The United States lacks an extensive surveillance testing system. When commercial and government laboratories test specimens for routine medical reasons, they should also take random samples to detect invisible invasive new viruses and bacteria. This would allow advance warning to be issued to the public, rather than being caught off guard when emergency rooms are suddenly packed with patients with unknown diseases.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, passed last March, provides only $500 million for surveillance testing, or 1/60th of the trillions of dollars spent on coronavirus response last year. politicians in Washington have used this epidemic as an excuse to ramp up spending on their favorite programs – from teachers’ unions and performing arts centers to high-spending Democratic-run state and city governments – instead of preparing the country to withstand future virus attacks.

There will be another pandemic in the future. But the information about China’s biological weapons research is a valuable wake-up call. Now politicians must pay attention to it.

Yet Maryland Democrats attacked Dr. Redfield on Monday, insisting that blaming China for the pandemic is “blaming Asians. This is nonsense. Hate crimes against Asian-Americans are deplorable, but they must not stop the U.S. government from seeking the truth about this plague or China’s biological weapons.

Most Chinese Americans understand that China is a rogue nation that has no respect for human life. That is why they choose to live here.
