Google: employees to return to the office from next month by 9/1 at the latest

Technology giant Google has said employees can start returning to its U.S. offices starting next month in response to the post-epidemic era.

The BBC reports that Google said the deadline for employees to return to work is Sept. 1. Google was one of the first tech companies to announce it would work from home when the outbreak began last year.

Fiona Cicconi, Google’s head of HR, said in a March 31 email that it has been a year since many of our employees worked from home, and the idea of returning to the office could stir up different emotions.

She added that the office will not then be exactly as everyone remembers it, but meals, snacks and amenities will be provided whenever possible, and dogs are welcome to be brought to work. In addition, Sconnie also recommends that employees be vaccinated against Newcastle pneumonia (CCA virus), but it is not mandatory.
