A new poll shows that Canadians are least confident in the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is far less trusted than the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or even the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which has been approved but is not yet available in Canada.
Only 53% of respondents to the poll, conducted by Leger and the Canadian Research Association, said they believed that the AstraZeneca vaccine they or their Family members had received would make them resistant to the CCP virus.
Eighty-two percent believed in the Pfizer vaccine, 77 percent believed in the Moderna vaccine, and 69 percent believed in the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is not yet available.
The survey of 1,523 Canadian adults was conducted online March 26-28, just before the latest controversy over the much-discussed AstraZeneca vaccine erupted.
On Monday, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization, NACI, changed its guidance on the use of AstraZeneca for the third Time, recommending against its use in people under 55 years of age.
This is because of reports that about three dozen patients, mainly young women, have developed blood clots after vaccination in Europe.
