Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of firing multiple ballistic missiles at it, Asian side denies it

Later, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Stepanian denied the Azerbaijani claim. Stepanian said, “Armenia did not fire any missiles from its territory at Azerbaijan.”

On October 17, Armenia and Azerbaijan announced an agreement on the implementation of a humanitarian ceasefire in the Naka region, agreeing to implement a humanitarian ceasefire starting at 00:00 local time on October 18. After the two ceasefires came into effect, both sides accused the other of violating the agreement by launching attacks.

The Nagorno-Karabakh region is located in southwestern Azerbaijan and is mostly inhabited by ethnic Armenians. Although a comprehensive ceasefire was agreed upon in 1994, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue remains a source of hostility and armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which broke out after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
