Bong Joon-ho + Song Kang-ho =?

It’s a pair of “fries”, so fries that without even looking at the title or the synopsis, you can predict that the movie is going to be a well-received movie. It’s probably because the two have been working together so well that once the two names are tied together, there’s no reason why it should be a good film.
The film is still regarded as a “masterpiece” in Korea, and even after all these years, the feeling of powerlessness and suffocation is still clearly perceptible.

The Han River Monster’s ability to take a subject of biochemical catastrophe and express it so artfully, portray it so powerfully and thought-provokingly provides a refreshing take on monster movies.

Snow Train, on the other hand, is much richer and deeper. The closed society of a train, the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the rich and the poor, the rich and the poor, and the depressing, black and depressing, is a masterpiece that should be remembered, even if the ending is a little flawed.

The above three works are enough to make the pairing of Bong Joon-ho and Song Kang-ho the gold standard of movies, and it is true, because this year they worked together again and won the Palme d’Or at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, which is the film “Parasite” that blew up the film circle.

I was very excited when I got the movie resources from my friend, and the movie I’ve been waiting for for a long time is finally going to meet me.

Parasite is good, the good kind of obvious, no pretense, and no deliberately high-class atmosphere, two hours down, you will not cover your own mouth, give a thumbs-up, can be said to be a must-see Korean film in 2019.

It has to be said that Korean films depicting realistic themes are not just a few blocks away from Chinese films, but also because they dare and can make them.
In fact, this is not the first time that a film with a parasitic theme like “Parasite” has appeared in Korea, and the reason why it is so popular is probably because this time, it is more dramatic and tragic.

In order to make more money, he seizes the opportunity to introduce his sister and parents to work in the rich man’s house, and becomes a “parasite” who depends on the rich man’s family for survival.

Yes, “Parasite” is a metaphor, not a disaster movie, so I’ll try not to mention important moments so as not to overload it.
The title “Parasite” is a perfect name for the movie. If it were me, I would have chosen “Living a Fraudulent Life” or something similarly unimaginative, but “Parasite” is different: it is both a metaphor for the current state of society and an expression of black humor.
Many people think that “parasite” unilaterally refers to the group of poor people living off the rich. The parasites are not poor, they are incompetent, incompetent to take care of themselves, which is why they need drivers to drive and housekeepers to take care of the house. So the “parasites” are macroscopic, not just any one group of people, but all people. That’s the beauty of the name, and there’s no better name for the movie.

From the parasitic hierarchy, from the windowless basement, to the small window in the semi-basement, to the floor-to-ceiling glass window in the big house, the story shows the hierarchy in the most realistic way. In the same landscape, what the main character’s family sees out of the window is the ugly sight of some drunken people urinating everywhere, while the rich man’s house is full of greenery and vegetation in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The man, from his first day as a tutor in a rich man’s house, planned to bring in his sister, who came in and started to bring in his parents, which directly shows the insatiable greed of the poor, the so-called greed, because they don’t have it, so they want to get more, to earn more money from the rich man’s family, that is the poor man’s wish, as to how others will be, not in the scope of consideration, because it is already difficult to take care of oneself, how to take care of others, so there was a dismissed driver, dismissed housekeeper.
Until a rainy night in the east window, the main character’s family took advantage of the rich man’s home to go out on vacation, take over the mansion, eat, drink and get drunk in it, but also to tell their inner sorrows.

The father said, “This wife is really kind, rich but kind. The mother immediately retorted, “It’s not that she is kind because she is rich, it’s because she is rich that she is kind.

The reason why the mother chose to let the former housekeeper into the house on a rainy night, even though she thought it was strange, was because she should be kind compared to the former housekeeper.
The movie also talks about smell, and the first to notice the smell problem is the young son of the rich man. It probably stinks.

The protagonist’s family lives in a basement where there is no daylight, and their clothes are not exposed to sunlight and tend to smell of mildew, an unexplainable smell that is actually the smell of class. When the family can’t escape from the rich man’s house because it’s raining, they overhear a conversation between the man and the woman. The man says that the driver has an unidentifiable smell and feels disgusted, and the father listens to the conversation and takes it to heart, which is why there is a fatal stabbing of the man at the end.

Although many people do not understand why the father ended up with a knife to stab the man, it is because there has not been the dislike of others, that kind of disdain is not to look at you as a person, look at you like a pile of garbage, you may say that the poor do not deserve to have self-respect, but if there is no self-respect left, what is left of the poor, they also rely on their own hands to create wealth, and no cheating, even if the middle brush some small tricks, but also not to lose respect.

The first half of the movie is very enjoyable, just like a good article, but the second half is endlessly contemplative, people struggle to survive, just to find a place for themselves and their families, otherwise there is no sense of belonging in this world.
At the end of the movie, the boy vows to work hard to earn money so that his parents can live in a rich man’s villa and his father can come out in the open, which may be the boy’s dream, or maybe he can do it.

The gap between the rich and the poor is so wide that some people worry about their next meal, while others struggle with which villa to choose.
