Yunnan has a number of indigenous cases, and authorities are asking border counties and cities to be fully vaccinated

The border city of Ruili in Yunnan province, adjacent to Myanmar, added six new local cases of new crown pneumonia on Tuesday. The local government has asked people in four counties, including Ruili, to be fully vaccinated.

The official Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday that the CDC of Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, where Ruili is located, said the four border counties, including Ruili, will start full-scale vaccination of the population against the new crown vaccine starting this Thursday, and that 65 vaccination sites have been set up and the vaccine is “fully prepared. The report did not identify the other three counties and cities for this round of mass vaccination.

Since Tuesday evening, Ruili has been under vehicle and personnel control, in principle “no entry, no exit”, and those who need to leave must have a negative nucleic acid test report for the virus within 72 hours. The local government has also asked urban residents to stay at Home for a week and not to go out without special reasons, and all other business establishments are closed except for supermarkets, pharmacies and farmers’ markets.
