China’s Vaccination Surpasses Surge, Mandatory Vaccination Has Indicators

China’s National health Commission has announced that as of March 30, 114 million doses of vaccines had been administered nationwide, an increase of more than 30 million in one week, compared to just over 80 million doses in the past three months. At the same Time, official documents show that the legendary “mandatory vaccination” is in place, with the Zhangjiagang government requiring more than 18,000 doses per day in April.

China’s domestic vaccination rate has surged, with officials announcing on March 24 that more than 80 million doses of the new crown vaccine had been administered as of March 23. As local officials tried every possible way to urge people to get vaccinated, even resorting to disguised coercion. A week later, on the 31st, officials said 114 million doses had been vaccinated. This puts the number of vaccinations in the past eight days at more than 30 million doses.

Currently, officials across China are asking people to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The government of Wancheng Township in Wanning City, Hainan Province, has issued a notice at the entrance of the market saying “it is strictly forbidden to enter the market without vaccination,” and another notice reminding people that travel, including airplanes and high-speed trains, may be affected if citizens are not vaccinated.

Number of vaccinations linked to local officials’ performance

Ms. Liu, a Beijing resident, told Radio Free Asia, “Because there are targets, every unit leader will have targets, for example, if you are the secretary of the town party committee, you are rewarded with 5,000 yuan. So they force you to fight. If you don’t, their performance suffers, and the vaccine is linked to the official’s performance. Your cell phone Health Code shows no vaccination, no one will hire you for a part-time job.”

Mr. Lai, a villager from Taixing, Jiangsu Province, told the station that local officials are mobilizing villagers for vaccination, but he and his Family will not be vaccinated: “The first four or five days, our village inside also let our family members go for vaccination, but it is not yet forced, want to go, I did not go. My family members did not go to vaccination.”

In addition, a temporary vaccination site for the new Guan vaccine was put into use in early April in Qiaotou Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, and official media reported that the Qiaotou Town government plans to vaccinate 3,500 people a day in April.

Mr. Wang, a resident of Guizhou, told the station, “We have a mandatory government vaccination here, but residents can volunteer. Recently many regional officials have been telling people to get vaccinated.”

People are skeptical of vaccine safety

Ling Zhenbo, a resident of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, told reporters that he and his family are skeptical about the safety of vaccines because they don’t take them: “I think Chinese vaccines are definitely not safe. I think Chinese vaccines are definitely not safe because the original vaccines are always in trouble, you know. I’m sure I won’t go for mandatory vaccination, and I won’t let my children go either. The Chinese vaccine doesn’t even have phase III clinical data. A dozen people have died in Hong Kong, and foreign vaccines are immature, such as Pfizer and Modena, including AstraZeneca in the UK, and there have been incidents.”

So far, people in various countries have experienced serious side effects and even deaths after vaccination, but China is the only country that has not seen an official announcement. Ling Zhenbo said he saw scenes of side effects after vaccination, but the people at the scene were not allowed to film them: “There was one person who collapsed after vaccination, and the people next to him were not allowed to film. There are definitely accidents after vaccination in our country. It’s just not allowed to be reported.”

In China, there are four officially approved domestic vaccines, three of which are inactivated vaccines, developed by Sinopharm, China Biological, Beijing Institute of Biological Products, China Biological Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, and Beijing KeXing Zhongwei Biotechnology Co. The other one is a vaccine researched by Kangxinuo Biological Joint Stock Company, which is the only vaccine with single-dose immunization procedure.
