Producer: Hollywood is stifled by the left spirituality but the retrograde encounters magic

Hollywood’s big landmarks Hollywood.

Filmmakers Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman say the leftist political agenda prevalent in Hollywood not only undermines the values and spirituality of artists, but also stifles their creativity. But they stand by their beliefs and have encountered much magic.

Speaking on The Epoch Times’ Crossroads, Konzelman said people tend to believe that Hollywood is ruled by money, but in reality, “political correctness and left-leaning, that’s what really rules Hollywood.”

The way Hollywood works, Konzelman explained, is that if someone is given an opportunity to get rich, they will be asked to go against morality and everything that person believes in.

After a successful career in secular cinema, Solomon and Konzelman left Hollywood to find a way to make faith-based films. Solomon says, “We were called away from Hollywood in order to start a new Hollywood, and that’s basically where faith, Family, tradition, and truth are.”

Solomon and Konzelman have been in the entertainment business for 30 years. They have been writers and producers and have worked for many years with Warner Brothers, Paramount, Sony-Columbia and 20th Century Fox.

Describing their departure from Hollywood, Solomon said, “It was horrible, it was dark, it was perverse, it was everything we were not. It seemed to us that its political, spiritual, and moral intentions were evil …… We were going to quit our careers there because, I mean, our souls were being destroyed.”

Solomon said, “Any creative spirit you have is sanctioned by Hollywood because they take the attitude that if you don’t think like [them], if you’re not an automatic machine, or if you’re not a machine in the way that [they] want you to be. Morally, spiritually, or in any other way, [they] then don’t need you [and] will destroy you or crush you. So you’re always fighting, you’re always swimming against the current.”

He said, “If you are a creative person, your heart gets frustrated when you cannot create; because you need to create. And a painter needs to paint, but you cannot paint what you do not believe in.”

In addition, Solomon says, “There is a great darkness in Hollywood that people don’t know about.” “If people really knew what was going on behind the scenes in Hollywood …… they would burn down the studios.”

Hollywood was once America’s greatest commodity. It supported freedom during World War II, but now the devil has destroyed it, it’s dark, it’s deranged,” Solomon said.” “It’s the face of evil, it’s the mechanism that can destroy the world and people don’t see the devastation of it.”

Konzelman explained that there are many conservatives in Hollywood, but they have no control over the way movies are produced. They work on film crews as editors, assistant directors or crew members, etc.

He said, “There are a lot of conservatives there, but they have to keep quiet.”

They are “afraid of being cut out of the town for being conservative” because it could lead to the loss of their jobs and opportunities, Konzelman said. He said he and Solomon have not been contacted by Hollywood agents, managers, or entertainment lawyers in the past decade.

Movies are the most powerful publicity machine

Solomon said, “Hollywood is the biggest publicity machine ever.”

Ronald Rychlak, a professor of law at the University of Mississippi School of Law, says authoritarian regimes have been using movies for political gain since the early 20th century.

“The entertainment industry has enormous influence – recall how the Soviets controlled movie theaters and ballet companies. And the Nazis did the same thing.” said Reichlak, who co-authored the book “The Disinformation.

In the past few years, several companies in the Hollywood film industry have been bought out by Chinese Communist capital. Most notably, Chinese company Wanda has acquired AMC Theatres and Hollywood studio Legendary Entertainment. However, according to Screen Daily, Wanda gave up its majority stake in AMC, retaining less than 10 percent, after AMC suffered losses due to a pandemic of the Chinese Communist virus.

Conzelman said, “Despite the fact that the studios have been fully integrated into their political agendas, the theater chains have so far not been (fully) bought out.” He added that theaters are willing to show films as long as they attract audiences. “And we can do that with our product, so they’re willing to show our films.”

But Solomon believes those days are over, and that “movie theaters are now also being absorbed by Hollywood studios so that they can own the movie theater money, they can own all the tributary money,” and can control the direction of communication with the American people and the world.

They secretly completed the film Unplanned

The greatest success of the two filmmakers is their film Unplanned, which was released in 2019. The story is a true account of “Abby Johnson’s real-Life transformation from full-Time Planned Parenthood clinic director to, well, super advocate for the unborn.” Solomon and Conzelman told The Epoch Times.

However, Solomon and Conzelman wrote that the film was suppressed by cable stations and social media. “But ‘Unplanned’ still grossed more than $20 million at the box office; it could have done better if there had been a level playing field.”

Conzelman said Twitter took down the movie’s promotional account on the Friday night of the movie’s opening weekend.

Marketing the movie involved building intensity on the night of the opening weekend, Konzelman explained. That night, Twitter completely cut off their feeds to that account, so by the time some of the accounts were back up the next morning, they were showing only a hundred followers.

Konzelman continued. “We have over 200,000 followers and we have less than 2,000 (followers), and even the star of the movie, Ashley Bratcher, and the lead name of the (hit) movie, ‘Abby Johnson,’ couldn’t follow the movie on Twitter. own movie.”

Conzelman said it was so tyrannical that the filmmakers reported it twice to the White House and were asked to testify before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee to address the suppression of conservative ideas.

A spokesman for Twitter, meanwhile, only downplayed the fact that the account had been wrongly suspended at the time.

“We didn’t hide the number of followers or ban certain people from following,” the spokesman said in a 2019 email. “Once it was brought to our attention, we reinstated the account. But after that account was reinstated, it would have taken some time for the account’s followers to fully replenish and fill in the information.”

Solomon: It’s amazing, we’re protected

Solomon said both of their filmmakers were under pressure to produce the film, but they felt they were protected.

Solomon said, “It was amazing, there’s no way that movie could have been made.” We were told in prayer to go to Oklahoma, the reddest state in the union, and we actually went into hiding to make the movie.

Solomon said they had reason to be concerned that certain people might interfere with their work and try to destroy their houses and equipment, so they had a special work crew to protect their work.

Conzelman said the project is being done under a false name and “people just know it’s a faith and values friendly project, but they don’t know exactly what it is.” He added that people in the town were praying for them.

Three days before production began, Solomon said, they were a million dollars short, but all of a sudden he got a call from a stranger telling him, “Send me your account number.”

Solomon said the caller said he was about to take his flight while he and his girlfriend prayed to Jesus four times. The man then heard Jesus tell him to send Solomon a million dollars, which was deposited into their bank account shortly thereafter.

Inspired by the work of their two filmmakers, he added, many people came to their aid in various ways.

I just think it’s time for people to get active,” Solomon said. They have to want to do it, and they have to want to change it.”

Solomon adds. “All people like us …… we have to stand up; it’s time …… it’s time for us to stand up for what we believe in or they’re going to tell us what to believe in, and they’re already doing that up.”
