Epidemic worsens in India with 51% jump in deaths in a week

The second wave of the Chinese Communist virus Epidemic in India has worsened, with nearly 70,000 new cases in a single day on the 28th, and the number of active cases requiring treatment once again exceeding 500,000.

Comprehensive “Times of India” (Times of India), “Hindustan Times” (Hindustan Times) and Livemint and other media today (29) reported that, according to official statistics, India’s 28th single-day new cases of Chinese communist virus disease (COVID-19, Wuhan pneumonia) reached a new high of 68,266 cases, the most serious outbreak of Maharashtra province (Maharashtra), where the epidemic is most severe, had 44,414 new cases in a single day yesterday.

Due to the rapid increase in the average number of cases diagnosed on a single day, after more than four months, the number of active cases requiring treatment in India exceeded the 500,000 mark again yesterday, putting pressure on medical institutions once again.

If we look at the week, statistics show that the week of 22 to 28 added more than 130,000 new cases of CCHS virus than the previous week, and the number of deaths for the week of 22 to 28 reached 1,875, also jumping 51% from the previous week. This is the highest number of deaths from Wuhan pneumonia since the week of Dec. 21 to Dec. 27 last year.

The worsening epidemic in India is speculated that it may be related to the people’s non-compliance with the law and law enforcement officers who only want to take advantage of the epidemic regulations to demand bribes but do not seriously enforce the law.

Although many provincial districts in India, including New Delhi and Gujarat, have announced a ban on Holi celebrations on the 28th and 29th, the streets of New Delhi on the eve of Holi can be seen selling the celebration of Holi with colored powder, water guns and other celebratory tools, and a few people could be seen gathering to celebrate Holi in New Delhi yesterday, even though the police declared that they would be strictly prohibited.

The situation of people not wearing masks or wearing masks but showing their mouths and noses is still prevalent throughout India, especially in rural areas; even police officers enforcing the law on the streets of cities can also see this situation.

According to a survey report recently released by the Indian Ministry of health and Family Welfare, although 90% of the Indian people know the importance of wearing a mask to prevent epidemics, only 44% of the Indian people actually wear a mask, which equals 56% of the Indian people who do not wear a mask, that is, more than 750 million Indians do not wear a mask.

The recent rapid deterioration of the epidemic in India and the high mortality rate are suspected to be related to Variant viruses such as the British variant strain, and many Indian people who originally questioned the safety of the vaccine have increased their willingness to receive the vaccine.

According to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare statistics, the entire India to yesterday administered vaccine has broken 60 million doses, of which nearly 9 million doses are the second dose.

As of 29th, the cumulative number of cases of pneumonia in Wuhan, India has exceeded 12 million cases; the cumulative number of deaths also reached 161,843 people.
