The Man Chosen by Prophecy: Trump and Cao Cao

Now that the U.S. presidential election is in full swing, many people are making predictions about the outcome of the presidential race. Throughout history, when such major events have occurred, they have often been accompanied by prophecies. There are prophecies that include the word “Trump”, and we will talk about them today.

“Dang Tu Gao, the representative of Han”

For example, in the entire Han Dynasty, there was a prophecy that was passed down for more than 300 years before it was fulfilled, with only six words, “The one who replaces Han will be Tu Gao.

“The phrase “the one who replaces the Han dynasty is Tu Gao” is easy to understand, that is, the one who replaces the Han dynasty is “Tu Gao”. In ancient Chinese, the word “Tu” means “way”, which means “road”, and “tall” means “high”. Tall man on the side of the road? The high place in the middle of the road? The most authoritative interpretation of this phrase did not appear until the middle of the Three Kingdoms.

Where did this prophecy first appear? It was first derived from the “Spring and Autumn Prophecy,” which is now lost. According to the Song dynasty history book, the “Taiping Imperial Survey”, Emperor Wu of Han once drank and dined with his courtiers, and after finishing the meal, he suddenly became overcome with emotion and composed the famous “Rhetoric of the Autumn Wind”.

In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu, the Guangwu Emperor, wrote to Gongsun Shu, who became emperor in Sichuan, saying, “Those who have replaced Han are high in Dangtu, but is the ruler not high in himself?” Do you think that you are the one who replaced Dangtu Kao in the Han Dynasty? It can be seen that by the end of the Western Han Dynasty and the beginning of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the prophecy of “the one who will replace the Han will be the one who will be the tallest in the world” was widely spread.

However, who this prophecy was referring to was unclear for hundreds of years. Until the Three Kingdoms period, when the Han Dynasty was about to fall, many heroes and heroines fell prey to this prophecy again, led by Yuan Shu. Yuan Shu, as we all know, was a man who had no idea what was going on in his head and became emperor in 197 A.D., but two years later, in 199 A.D., he was beaten to death and vomited blood. Who gave Yuan Shu the courage to become emperor?

Yuan Shu himself felt that he was the third son of the fourth generation, which means that there were four generations of his family in the third son’s position, and his family had a great reputation. At that time, Sun Ce of Jiangdong belonged to Yuan Shu, and Yuan Shu owned most of what is now Jiangsu and south-central Anhui plus most of Jiangxi and Zhejiang, which was indeed quite a big territory. What’s more, Yuan Shu felt that he was talking about himself when he said, “The one who replaces Han is Tu Gao”[2]. Yuan Shu, the Chinese character for “highway”, means “road”, and Yuan Shu thought that I, Yuan Huan, was “Tu Gao”. In my opinion, this is called self-deception, and Yuan Shu’s character “highway” has no problem corresponding to “Tu”. Yuan Shu thought he was the fate of heaven, but he was actually pretending to be the fate of heaven. Later on, Yuan Shu became the emperor and died after two years.

This prophecy was gradually discussed by the public in the middle and later part of the Three Kingdoms period. When we look at the records in the Records of the Three Kingdoms, there are different professionals who were well versed in stargazing and divination who gave the same answer.

Du Qiong, an official of the Shu Dynasty, said in response to an inquiry from Aso Zhou [3], “Wei is a kind of name for Que, which stands high by the roadside, and most of the prophecies of ancient sages used this metaphorical technique. Zhou Shu, another astrologer of Shu, also said[4], “The one who is high in Dangtu is also called Wei.” As for the Wei State’s Imperial Chancellor Xu Zhi said to Cao Pi[5], “Dangtu is high, that is, Wei; like Wei, it is the tall city tower on the road outside the palace gate. That which is tall in Dangtu is Wei. That which is tall by the roadside is Wei.

Dangtu high means something tall by the side of the road. According to the Kangxi dictionary, something like Wei, Que, is the towering towers on either side of the road outside the palace gate. In other words, Wei is the towering city tower on both sides of the road outside the palace gate. Wei is the name of the city tower, and it lives up to its name.

One might wonder, could it be that someone saw this prophecy coming and named the country Wei to echo the prophecy? Let’s talk about the origin of the name of the state of Wei during the Three Kingdoms period. After the Battle of Guandu, Cao Cao pacified the north within a few years and moved his base camp from Xuchang to Yecheng, the largest city north of the Yellow River in China, where Yuan Shao’s capital was located. Yecheng was the largest city in China north of the Yellow River, and Yuan Shao’s capital was located in Yecheng. In 213 A.D., Cao Cao was crowned Duke of Wei. Why was it called Wei? Because the place where Yecheng is located is Wei County. Cao Cao was given the title of Duke of Wei because the land he was given was in several counties, mainly Wei County, and the capital was in Wei County. Cao Cao was then crowned King of Wei, and Cao Pi inherited the title of King of Wei and established a dynasty called Wei. The title Wei comes from the place name Wei County, which was not given by anyone at all, and there is no trace of a deliberate act.

The prophecy that “the one who replaces the Han will be the highest in the land” was passed down for more than 300 years and was finally fulfilled by Cao Cao.

Some people thought, “If we all know this prophecy beforehand, then we should just change it, isn’t that simple? There are many other people who have done this throughout history, so let’s tell a few more stories.

“Spot check as the Son of Heaven.”

We all know about Zhao Kuanggyin, the first emperor of the Song Dynasty. There is a very interesting story about Zhao Kuanggyin’s ascension to the throne. According to the records of Song history [6]: in 959 A.D., the then Emperor of the Zhou Dynasty, Chai Rong, on his way to cut down the country’s frontiers, found a wooden board with the words “point inspection as the Son of Heaven” written on it. Chai Rong was not happy at first sight, and immediately suspected Zhang Yongde, who was then the point inspector in front of the palace. The point inspector in front of the palace is the general of the pro-army in front of the palace, is a very powerful military position. When he returned, Chai Rong dismissed Zhang Yongde, removing the old man and promoting the new. When Chai Rong had a chance to look around, he had to find a person, this person has the ability, young, the key is not deep roots, look at and fancy a person, this person is called Zhao Kuangyin.

So Zhao Kuangyin was promoted as a point inspector before the palace. When Chai Rong died of illness, six months later, Zhao Huangyin was crowned with yellow robes and became the emperor of the Song Dynasty without bloodshed. Chai Rong wanted to artificially change his fate, but he didn’t know that what he had done laid the fate of his own dynasty, which really should be the “point inspection as the son of heaven” phrase.

“Deng Tong will eventually starve to death because of poverty.”

Emperor Wen had a favorite minister named Deng Tong, who was so fond of him that Emperor Wen gave Deng Tong countless sums of money. Once Emperor Wen asked a fortune-teller to tell Deng Tong’s fortune, and the fortune-teller said, “Deng Tong will starve to death because of his poverty. How could I let Deng Tong starve to death? How about this: I give Deng Tong a bronze mountain in Shu, so that he can mint money himself, that’s okay.

As we all know, in the past, money was gold, silver and copper. Giving Deng Tong a mountain of copper would be like giving someone the right to issue money. Deng Tong became rich as Emperor Wen of Han[7].

However, human destiny is something that even the emperor could not change. When Emperor Wen died, his son, Emperor Jing, who had hated Deng Tong ever since he became the crown prince, became the emperor. The first thing he did when he became emperor was to remove Deng Tong from office. Then he confiscated all of Deng Tong’s property on the charge of transit mining, and finally Deng Tong was impoverished and starved to death in the streets [8].

“May not be able to eat this year’s new wheat.”

According to the record of Zuo Zhuan (Zuo Zhuan), the Duke of Jin was seriously ill and dreamt that he was being chased by evil spirits, so he asked a mulberry field witch to divine for him. The Duke of Jin then asked a famous doctor from the state of Qin to treat him, and the doctor said that his illness was beyond cure. This is an allusion to the idiom of “the sickness is beyond cure”.

Later, when the new wheat was harvested in autumn, Duke Jing had his men make porridge, and then called the mulberry witch to kill him, which means you can see that I am not going to eat the new wheat soon. When the Duke of Jin was about to eat the new wheat, he suddenly felt a pain in his stomach, so he went to the toilet and couldn’t eat. In the end, no one came out of the toilet for a long time. The servant went into the toilet to look for the Duke of Jin, and found that he had fallen into a dung pit and drowned, and really did not eat the new wheat of the year.

“Trump is the Chosen One”?

We have a long history of prophecy in China, and there are many Western prophecies as well. Nostradamus predicted many big things, including Hitler, Napoleon, and World War II. Nostradamus predicted many big things, including Hitler, Napoleon, and World War II. And one of the most popular prophecies that has been circulating recently is about President Trump. I have a lot of American Christian friends who believe that Trump is the Chosen One. Why do you say that?

Here are two references to trump in Paul’s epistles, 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible. (1Cor 15:52) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and we shall be changed. and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1Th 4:16)

Both passages speak of the same thing: that before the great tribulation of the last days, Jesus Christ will withdraw His church to be united with Him in heaven, that those Christians who have died in Christ over the last 2,000 years will be resurrected first to glorious immortality, and that those Christians who are still alive at that time will be lifted up into the air to meet the Lord, and that their bodies will be transformed from flesh and blood to glory in an instant! Immortality, henceforth Christ and His Church shall never be separated! And Christians are the ones who hear the last trump sound and know that the Rapture has come!

That is to say, Trump appears to Christians as the last man standing with the will of God. This explains why Trump is so popular among American Christians. Many of Trump’s practices also indirectly confirm some people’s judgment.

[1] the trip to He Fen, Zhongliu and courtiers to banquet is to write his own “autumn wind” speech, Gu said courtiers: “Han has six or seven of the bad, the law should be commissioned again, the clan descendants who should respond to this? The six or seven or forty-two generations of the Han dynasty, Dangtu Kao.” The courtiers said: “Han should be ordained by heaven, the throne more than Zhou Yin, children and grandchildren, never ending, Your Majesty, how can this fallen country, overhearing the concubines?” He said: “I am drunk with words. But since ancient times, I have not heard of a surname so long king of the world, but make the loss, not my father and son can carry on.”

[7] “The Records of the Grand Historian” made the good phase of the people connected, said “when the poor starved to death. Emperor Wen said, “I am the one who can be rich. What is poverty?” So give Deng Tong Shu Yan Road, Copper Mountain, has since cast money, “Deng’s money” cloth world. Deng’s money” spread all over the world. He was so rich.

[8] “The Records of the Grand Historian” and the collapse of Emperor Wen and the establishment of Emperor Jing, Deng Tong was exempted and went home. He was accused of stealing and casting money out of Lemon. The officials examined the case, and quite a bit of it was lost. The Princess gave Deng Tong the money, and the mandarins readily went in with it, without a hairpin being allowed to wear it. So the Princess ordered fake clothing and food. She did not even get a single penny for her name and sent it to someone else to die.

9] “Zuo Zhuan” (Zuo Zhuan, Zuo Zhuan’s Book of the Dead): The Duke was ill and sought treatment from Qin. He sought medical help from Qin, who asked him to slow down. Before he arrived, the Duke dreamed of his illness and said, ‘He is a good doctor who is afraid of hurting me. One of them says, ‘What if I were to live above the mountain and below the mountain? When the doctor arrived, he said, ‘The disease cannot be treated. In the region above the diaphragm, under the ointment, it cannot be attacked, it cannot be reached, the medicine does not reach, it cannot be done. “The Duke said, “A good doctor is also a good doctor.” Hou returned as a gift. In the sixth month of the year, on the third day of the lunar calendar, the Marquis of Jin wanted wheat, so he asked the people of the province to offer wheat and feed it to them. He summoned the witch of the mulberry field to show and kill him. He would eat, open; like a toilet, fall in and die. I have a morning dream of negative public to ascend to heaven, and in the sun, negative Jin Hou out of the toilets, then thought martyred.
