In the interview, Trump slammed Fauci as “self-aggrandizing” and “media hype,” saying he “did the opposite of what he (Fauci) said,” the National Archives reported.
“If you look closely, I didn’t listen to him too much, because I did the opposite of what he said.”
The 45th President Trump recently appeared on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News Live in response to Joe Biden‘s disastrous first presidential press conference and took the opportunity to share his true feelings about Anthony Fauci, whom he considers a media hype and a shameless braggart.
President Trump said, “I got along with him, but I didn’t listen to him too much,” and “he said don’t close the door to China, I did, very early (on). He said don’t close the door to Europe, you know we had problems with Italy and France, I closed it, I closed it to Europe very, very early. He said don’t wear masks, masks don’t work, they’re not good, they’re not good.”
“The way I look at it, you saw the first pitch he threw in Washington, right? He didn’t pitch at his level.” President Trump said, “He was referring to a comically bad pitch by Fauci that fell far short of its destination.
“But he’s a great promoter, but I get along with him,” Trump joked, “and if you look closely, I don’t really listen to him too much, because I do the opposite of what he says.”
“Frankly, if he was known as the guy who was always with me, he wouldn’t be popular with the media. He’s just a media hype man.”
