Recently, a 27-year-old woman was arrested by the Beijing Dongcheng police for allegedly making vile remarks about Dong Cunrui, and has now been placed in criminal detention. The woman’s remarks were exposed and sparked debate among netizens.
On March 26, the official microblogging site of the Dongcheng Branch of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, “Safe Beijing Dongcheng”, released a message claiming that on March 24, microblogging user “YvonnAlmond” posted “scandalizing heroic martyrs” on the Internet. “The police in Beijing’s Dongcheng district issued a news release on March 25. Beijing Dongcheng police arrested the owner of the microblog, Xu Mouyi (female, 27), on March 25, and the woman admitted to making the comments on the Internet. The woman has now been placed in criminal detention by the Dongcheng Public Security Bureau.
At present, all of “YvonnAlmond’s” microblog posts have been deleted. The woman’s comments on the microblogging site were exposed recently, and the woman posted that “a country that can’t march on the streets, has a bunch of nest Home internet mobs, with Dong Cunrui like makeup gay, but also Jack the Ripper like Puxin men, day in and day out, is tossing… …”
In this regard, some netizens said, “What is makeup gay, why speak is ugly?”
Another netizen said, “Nothing can be said in the country,” and “Your idea is a crime of subversion.”
Some netizens also mentioned, “Luckily my WeChat was blocked early, otherwise I would have to be in the news.”
According to reports, at noon on March 25, “YvonnAlmond” also posted that she did not apologize for her comments on the 24th, believing that she had done nothing wrong, but had only spoken the truth, and that someone had tried to use her comments on the 24th to put her in jail.
According to a post on the Internet, “YvonnAlmond” also posted at noon on the 25th that she had ended her partnership/contribution with Harper’s Bazaar in March 2020. According to this, “YvonnAlmond” may be a fashion editor.
In recent years, many people have been arrested for making “sensitive” comments on Weibo, including Wang Jingyu, a 19-year-old Chongqing resident, who has been forced to return to China through various tactics.
In addition, on June 23, 2020, Pan Rui, the son of well-known Chinese real estate developer Pan Shiyi, left a comment in the comments section under other users’ posts on Weibo saying that he had heard that “at least one camp” of Chinese soldiers on the Sino-Indian border had been “buried alive by India. Unexpectedly, eight months later, some leftists suddenly besieged him online. And on March 15, Beijing police issued a notice to “pursue Pan Rui across the border”.
The micro-blogger @SpicyPenBall was charged with “insulting martyrs” and was criminally detained by the Nanjing police. Beijing netizen Chen was also criminally detained by Beijing police for posting so-called “insulting and defaming the heroes of the garrison” in a WeChat group.
