In response to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Taiwan and the United States on maritime patrol, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army sent a large number of warplanes around Taiwan, Executive President Su Tseng-chang criticized China on Saturday (27) for being militaristic and wasting national power.

The world is one and the people want peace and prosperity, and any country that is militaristic is wasting national power and worrying the people. What we just signed with the United States is also to do efforts to maintain regional peace and stability. As for the constant disturbance of Taiwan by Chinese military aircraft, it is really a waste of its national power and unnecessary. We also call on China to use more power in taking care of its people, (it is) its people’s (hope).

The president’s office spokesman Zhang Dunhan said that the national army and national security units have a complete grasp of the situation and also make relevant responses to ensure peace in the Taiwan Strait.

The unilateral military provocations by the Chinese authorities in Beijing will not contribute to regional peace and stability, nor to the development of cross-strait relations, nor will they be supported by the people of Taiwan. Taiwan will continue to cooperate with the United States and countries with similar philosophies, with the aim of sharing information and cooperating fully, with the same goal in mind.

Beijing is responsible for the “normalization” of common aircraft around Taiwan

The media asked how Taiwan would handle it if the next Time there is further cooperation between Taiwan and the United States, Beijing also reacts fiercely and normalizes the “pattern” (of circling Taiwan). The question is the attitude of the Beijing authorities, said Dunhan Zhang.

I think the key to whether or not it will become normalized lies with the Beijing authorities,” Dunhan said. The Beijing authorities should know clearly that regional peace and stability is the common responsibility of every country in the region, and everyone and every country should take up the relevant responsibilities.

Foreign Minister Wu Chiu-sup said in a post on the social networking site that the dangerous provocative behavior of authoritarian China highlights the fact that democratic Taiwan is at the forefront of the threat. Wu stressed that he will not give in and that these Chinese moves will not stop Taiwan from becoming a force for good in the world or a reliable partner for like-minded countries.

An unnamed State Department spokesman, responding to a reporter’s inquiry, said Washington is urging Beijing to stop pressuring Taiwan militarily, diplomatically and economically. The spokesman stressed that Beijing should engage in meaningful dialogue with Taiwan.

The PLA sent a total of 20 military aircraft into Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Friday. This time is the most number of military aircraft circling Taiwan in a single day by the Chinese Communist Party since the Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan announced daily news of PLA aircraft circling Taiwan in mid-September 2020, breaking the record. The CPC military aircraft circling Taiwan include: two Carrier 8 anti-submarine aircraft, one Air Marshal 500, four Boom 6K, 10 J16, two J10, and one Carrier 8 technical reconnaissance aircraft, of which the Boom 6K and Carrier 8 anti-submarine aircraft are the few that enter southeastern Taiwan.

According to military information, on September 19, 2020, when then-U.S. State Department Under Secretary Clark and former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori visited Taiwan and attended the memorial service for former President Lee Teng-hui, the Chinese Communist Party sent 19 military planes around Taiwan, and the day before, on September 18, there were also 18 PLA planes that broke into Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone.
