Fox News is facing a high-priced lawsuit.
Dominion Voting Systems, a voting machine company, filed a lawsuit against Fox News in the Delaware Supreme Court on June 26, alleging that Fox News spread smear stories about voting machines during the 2020 election in order to boost ratings, causing damage to the business and goodwill of Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion Voting Systems requested that the lawsuit be tried to a grand jury and sought $1.6 billion from FOSS News.
Less than two months ago, Smartmatic, another election technology company, filed a lawsuit against Fox Corporation and several Fox News anchors, including Maria Bartiromo and Lou Dobbs, seeking a total of $2.7 billion.
According to Delaware Supreme Court records, Dominion Voting Systems pointed out in a 139-page complaint that Fox News played an active role in spreading lies about fraudulent voting machines at Dominion Voting Systems, claiming that vote tallies were tampered with and that voting machines were tampered with to help elect Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
The lawsuit points out that the Forsyth News report is untrue, but repeatedly obtained former President Trump lawyers Giuliani (Rudolph Giuliani), Powell (Sidney Powell) in the public platform to promote. In January of this year, Dominion voting system has been Giuliani, Powell double sued for defamation, each demanded compensation of more than 100 million dollars.
Mike Lindell, founder of the “My Pillow” bedding brand, was also sued by the Dominion Voting System for defamation, seeking more than $100 million in damages.
The Forsyth News Network issued a statement on the 26th that the 2020 election coverage has always upheld “the highest standards of American journalistic tradition”, and now it has been unjustifiably accused and will try to defend its reputation.
