Today (26), Senate Republicans Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) led a Senate delegation to the southern border.
On the same day, “We The People For Border Security,” an initiative of Women Fight For America (WFFA) founder Christie Hutcherson and hosted by Patriots at Large, was held in La Honda, Texas, in the afternoon. The “We The People For Border Security” event was held in Laredo, Texas, this afternoon.
Laredo, Texas, is one of the battlegrounds of the U.S. border crisis, the organizers said in a press release. The “We The People For Border Security” event will expose the truth about the immigration crisis, including coyotes, child sex trafficking, drug smuggling and its impact on all those involved.
The press release states that it expects a large turnout and invites all Americans who support legal immigration and the defense of America’s borders through legal, responsible and compassionate measures to participate!
The press release also states that showing support for border security through peaceful demonstrations and discussions can lead to significant policy reform!
The event also featured a number of dignitaries, celebrities and media personalities who attended and spoke.
Earlier, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) led a Republican team to visit the southern border. He said at a news conference that doctors at the border told him that 10 percent of illegal immigrants tested positive for the Chinese Communist virus (coronavirus) when they were released into nearby communities.
Border crisis draws widespread attention
Biden has seen a steady influx of migrants at the southern border since he took office on Jan. 20. On his first day in office, he repealed several immigration policies from former President Trump‘s presidency, including a moratorium on the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and proposed legislation to try to give citizenship to nearly 11 million immigrants who are in the United States illegally.
Until recently, the border crisis was getting worse. As of March 23, there were 16,513 unaccompanied illegal alien minors detained at the southern border, according to the U.S. Department of health and Human Services (HHS).
The Biden Administration has also been strongly criticized by Republicans for this, “The border crisis is a direct result of the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies.” Cruz previously tweeted that the Biden administration had returned to a “catch and release” policy, stopping the construction of the border wall and the policy of keeping illegal immigrants in Mexico.
Biden has said he has no plans to visit the border. But on March 24, he appointed He Jinli to lead the crisis of the influx of illegal immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Biden yesterday (25) in the first press conference explained that it takes Time to deal with these topics, for which families can stay in the United States, which will be deported, “let some illegal immigrant families stay in the United States, mainly because Mexico refuses to accept these families,” and so on.
However, Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas issued a statement last Tuesday defending the administration’s policy and saying that the administration will not be changing course anytime soon. “The situation at the southwest border is dire,” Mayorkas said, “and we are working around the clock, and we will continue to do so.”
U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Arkansas, called on Biden Monday (22) to reimpose three Trump-era border policies.
