Biden holds secret meeting with historian to discuss ending filibuster

The Breitbart News reported Wednesday that Biden met secretly with historians at the White House to discuss his political legacy of driving historic change in the United States during the pandemic.

Axios quoted “people close to Biden” as saying that Biden feels strong and ready to end the Senate filibuster and push through as much transformative legislation as possible while the House and Senate remain in the majority. Biden’s list of positive actions to take includes historic legislation on climate change, gun control and federal voting laws.

Biden also “likes” to think he is more transformative than Obama, who has worked with House and Senate Republicans to push legislation, the report noted.

Biden has repeatedly championed the role of government, considering himself a historic figure in the vein of Democratic hero Lyndon Johnson, or Franklin D. Roosevelt, the report said. Biden’s goal is to prove to the American people that the government is willing to help them and should be trusted by the people.

In a speech to the nation about the ongoing fight against the coronavirus, Biden said, “Trust and confidence in our government to carry out its function of protecting the American people.”
