Recently, Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed former DEA officer Mark Ibrahim on his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” show. (Tucker Carlson Tonight). He was fired from his job for participating in a pro-Trump rally in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6 of this year. He is taking legal action to defend his rights.

Carlson began the program by saying, “There were thousands of Republicans who went to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6 of this year to listen to Trump’s speech near the White House. Most of them didn’t do anything wrong at all, they just sat there and listened to the speech …… (Ibrahim) was one of them, yet he was fired.”

Ibrahim recounted his experience. He said, “I didn’t even set foot on the stairs of the Capitol. To be honest, I didn’t even plan to go to the rally that day. A friend of mine who served in Iraq asked me to videotape it for him. We were just bystanders. When the crowd became hostile to law enforcement, and I was a law enforcement officer myself, I started recording everything I saw and, through my friend, turned everything I recorded over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). That way those criminals could face justice (trial).”

“Upon returning to Los Angeles, my badge and gun were taken away and I was escorted back to my apartment like a criminal. After being suspended for two months, I was fired, citing performance issues.” Ibrahim continued.

Carlson asked Ibrahim if it was legal for the DEA to do that. He said, “Don’t we have the Civil Service Act that protects career federal employees from being fired because of their political beliefs?”

Ibrahim replied, “I wish we did. I was there with my brother. He is an FBI agent, but he was not adversely affected in any way. In fact, it shouldn’t have happened to me either; they got it wrong. My brother and I both served in the military, and I followed him into federal law enforcement. My sister is a Navy veteran. My mom was in the Pentagon (working) on 9/11.”

He also talked about, “I’m the son of two immigrants. My Parents fled a dictatorship (country). My mom instilled in me the concept that we are owed this country (the United States) and that freedom is not free. The sad thing is that I can no longer serve my country.”

Carlson sees this as an ideological cleansing that is happening in America. The entire federal government is completely out of control. The secretary of defense is leading the charge to purge U.S. military units.

Facing an unjustified firing, Ibrahim is seeking legal help. He said, “I am taking legal action against the Drug Enforcement Administration through the DRE law firm. They (lawyers) are very supportive of me. I’m treating this as a matter of principle …… My friends are encouraging me to fight it. They said it’s not just about you, but also on behalf of all those who are being wrongfully persecuted because of their political views.”

Ibrahim also said he has received a great deal of help from his friends, “My friends set up a fund and used the money raised to help me pay for legal fees and living expenses.”

He concluded by saying, “I just want to say that I pray that our country will heal and I pray that we will not be marginalized and dehumanized anymore.”
