The founder of the famous steakhouse chain Texas Roadhouse, Kent Taylor, committed suicide recently at the age of 65 after suffering from the New Coronavirus (Chinese Communist virus).
Taylor died by suicide on March 18, Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse published a Facebook post mourning the death of the founder, and pointed out that he was suffering from symptoms of the new coronavirus and tinnitus.
In a statement, the Family said, “Kent fought bravely and fearlessly against the New Coronavirus, just as he did in his previous freestyle championship, but chose to end his Life because of the recent worsening of his tinnitus. Our family, and by extension the restaurant and the entire community, lost a perfect son, a kind father and a loving grandfather this week.”
Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse was founded in 1993 with its first location in Louisville, Kentucky, and now has 610 locations, expanding to 49 states across the United States and more than a dozen countries overseas.
Taylor’s role in the company is multi-faceted, as president and executive chef. Last spring, Taylor was in the news for donating all of his salary to the first responders of the new coronavirus.
The family statement noted, “Tyler always said Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse was just a company that ‘happened to be selling steaks’ and that the focus should be on ‘people’. He left behind his most valuable asset, which is building a business that puts people first. Over the past 28 years, he has changed the course of thousands of employees and customers’ lives. Also committed to philanthropy, he established a foundation to help veterans who suffer from tinnitus.”
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer also tweeted his condolences, saying, “Tyler’s kindness and generosity were the driving force behind his efforts to help his friends and create one of the greatest businesses in the country – Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse. He put the values of ‘never give up’ and ‘putting people first’ perfectly into the corporate Culture.
Tyler is survived by his Parents, three children and five grandchildren, and Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse spokesman Travis Doster said a private memorial service will be held this week and thanked the community for their kindness in coming to pay their respects.
