More than three years after losing his ID card, a student at Fudan University accidentally found himself as the chairman of a company in Shenzhen, suspected of having his identity fraudulently used. The incident sparked heated debate among netizens.
On March 15, the student’s cell phone received an advertisement for a corporate loan pushed by Alipay, showing that he was the legal representative of Shenzhen Gechuangjia Technology Co.
Wang said that when he used Alipay’s “electronic business license” App to successfully download the company’s business license through face recognition and one-by-one verification, he confirmed that his information had been fraudulently used.
After that, Wang went to the official website of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision, and logged in as the legal representative to download the business file of Shenzhen Gechuangjia Company. From the industrial and commercial file, the company’s legal representative’s name, ID number, residence and ID card scans were all his own.
At present, he has reported the case to the Shenzhen police and contacted the Shenzhen market supervision department. According to the market regulator’s request, he will go to Shenzhen on March 31 with identification documents and other documents to apply for revocation of relevant registration information.
It is understood that Wang had lost his ID card at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station during the summer vacation of his freshman year in August 2017, when he just made a replacement ID card and did not report it nor did he lose it. Business and industry records show that two months after the loss of Wang’s ID card, the legal representative and chairman of Shenzhen Gechuangjia company changed to Wang.
After the news came out, it triggered hot debate among netizens, who said, “It’s ridiculous to say that I can not be present when registering and have to go in person when canceling, is there anything to say?”
“Shouldn’t the relevant departments take responsibility? Why is there a word of notice to the parties running around when things go wrong? People’s Time is not time?”
“into a tourist attraction are to ID card ➕ brush face authentication, register a company actually so casual, is also drunk.”
“This ID card is designed to be worse than a meal card. The original card will be invalid after the meal card is replaced, while this second generation ID card can not be lost still can be used normally.”
In mainland China, where identity theft is frequent, Mo Zhenyu, a native of Qinzhou, Guangxi, inadvertently discovered last year during an information search that he had more than 130 companies under his name, registered in Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Guizhou, Hubei and other parts of the country, according to official Communist Party media. “I just graduated from college, never opened a company, many places to go have never been, how can there be a company in my name?” He said.
Beijing‘s Mr. Liu was impersonated to register a company in Guangxi with his identity. Mr. Liu rushed to the local market supervision department to inquire and found that a surrogate helped him register the company, registered the ID card copy material used is the previous documents he had lost, the surrogate also forged his signature.
Mr. Liu asked the market supervision department to prove his “innocence”, but the market supervision department said that they are in accordance with the current registration rules to accept the registration application, can not issue a certificate for Mr. Liu. Mr. Liu went to the public security department to report the case, and went with the police to the company’s registration site, but found that the door was locked, and the company sign at the door did not match the registered company name.
