Just after the “two sessions” of the Communist Party of China (CPC) this year, a video of waitresses pouring water at an official meeting of the CPC went viral. Netizens accused the waitresses of “fascist violent aesthetics” and pointed out that the video implied the CCP’s brainwashing and domination tactics.
A few days ago, video footage of an official Communist Party meeting hall was circulated on the Internet. It shows that most of the seats in the hall are empty. But the waitresses are still lined up, pouring tea for each seat in turn, taking tea cups, pouring water, putting tea cups, putting lids on, raising heads, stepping, all movements are as neat and tidy as robots.
In response, some netizens ridiculed the CCP for not doing its job.
“The professional thing is very bullshit, the bullshit thing is very professional.”
“This is actually really in-rolling. Complicating something that has no technical content or value and produces no added value.”
Some other netizens exclaimed.
“This is a job a robot can do.”
“The top and bottom are filled with pathologies!”
But many netizens also pointed out that this is in fact the usual CCP brainwashing.
“Same as the folded army being kicked in the right direction, a mechanized mode of brainwashing.”
“Making people run like machines is the highest pride of the dictatorship.”
“I should say simplifying man into an inferior animal to make it more conducive for the Communists to control and rule.”
“No living creature does this, not even bacteria and viruses float in line. Only machines would synchronize and pinpoint, and it doesn’t matter about freedom, independence, equality or whatever.”
Some other netizens offer specific explanations.
“Totalitarian aesthetics, which is all about quantity and neatness. This reflects the pathological values of that distorted aesthetics, quantity that is the masses, neatness and includes height, fatness, voice, movement, program, and even looks …… are to be neat and tidy, reflecting sideways that the global community of human Destiny advocated by that value is to completely unify the behavior, thoughts, and thinking of all human beings, no more differences, and no more there will be progress.”
“This is the aesthetics of fascist violence. Its essence is to demonstrate the demonstrative effect of collective submission through the slavish training of purging individuality, thereby inspiring pride in individual participation and causing shock and fear of collective abandonment to those who attempt to maintain their individuality.”
The China Review Service has reported that the waiters at the Great Hall in Beijing are strictly selected from all provinces and have strict image standards, with all boys between 1.75 and 1.80 meters tall and girls between 1.65 and 1.70 meters, with decent looks. State banquet waiters are the best of the best, each have to go through a rigorous selection and training, just lift the lid of this small action to practice for months, in order to be neat and tidy.
In addition to the neat and tidy waiter pouring water, the 2018 “two sessions” of the Communist Party of China, but also a rare scene of soldiers collectively kicked square step into the field. At that Time, Xi Jinping and other members of the new CPC leadership had just been “elected”. In the new team’s oath of office to the Constitution, there were 15 military honor guards from the army, navy and air force who entered the arena.
Netizens speculate that this is a declaration of “military prestige” to the NPC deputies in high positions. A netizen said, “the sound of stomping feet, is the ancient costume drama when the court hearing prisoners shouting ‘mighty’ and knocking wooden staff”.
