The National Archives reports that the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, voted 228/197 to pass the DREAM and Amnesty Act, which grants blanket amnesty to illegal immigrants who entered the United States before the age of 18. A total of nine Republicans sided with Democrats to pass the bill. The bill has moved to the U.S. Senate and requires a total of 10 Republican senators to vote ‘yes’ to be recognized as law.
Earlier this month, 20 Senate Republicans voted to confirm far-left, anti-gun Merrick Garland, who has a history of opposing gun rights and downplaying Black Lives Matter violence, as U.S. attorney general, the National Archives said. Those who voted for the nomination included Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Graham, and many other Republican senators who voted to confirm Garland’s nomination also have a history of lobbying for increased immigration and opposing Trump‘s hard-line stance on amnesty.
The National Archives believes that finding 10 Republican senators to support the DREAM and Amnesty Act is entirely possible in the current situation. Readers exclaim that this Washington swamp is really wide and deep.
