The Biden administration’s bill to give 11 million undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally a chance at citizenship has inspired a tidal wave of illegal immigrants to flock to the U.S. border. In this photo, a “caravan of illegal immigrants” from Central America pours across the U.S.-Mexico border through Mexico, hoping to enter the United States.
The Washington Examiner reported Thursday (March 18) that at the National Sheriffs Association’s 2021 Winter Video Conference this week, sheriffs reported an “even more alarming concern”: an estimated 5 to 50 percent of illegal immigrants tested positive for the new coronavirus (Chinese Communist virus or Wuhan pneumonia).
This adds to the border crisis already caused by the surge in illegal immigration and increased crime. The report said the sheriffs reached a consensus after discussing the threat to the U.S. from the illegal immigration issue at the meeting. They will make a detailed warning call to the president.
Surge in illegal immigrant infection rate: minimum 5%, maximum 50%
In a draft border security resolution to be voted on at the National Sheriffs’ Association meeting June 21-24 in Phoenix, Arizona, the sheriffs said: “It is the position of the National Sheriffs’ Association that the federal government should make every effort to secure our nation’s borders from harm to our country and its citizens,” the report said. “
The draft resolution refers to a more alarming concern, the newspaper noted. The sheriffs said, “An estimated 5 to 50 percent of illegal immigrants test positive for New Coronavirus. In any other situation, such a high rate of infection would have alerted public health officials. However, we are currently implementing a policy of open admissions, not restricting illegal immigrants from entering the United States.”
Health and Human Services System Already Overwhelmed
The draft resolution also reads, “We are already seeing the strain on the public health system in border communities. As a result of the moratorium on deporting illegal immigrants from the country, those caught can only be released into border communities. If they become infected with the New Coronavirus, we will have an unshirkable responsibility to provide them with medical care.”
The draft resolution further states, “This comes at a Time when our communities are already struggling to cope with this public health emergency and desperately trying to promote the vaccine. Our border region now faces a serious potential public health crisis”
It is reported that many of the illegal immigrants are now unaccompanied minors (9,457 in February) who should have been taken to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) within 72 hours, which has just opened a second facility for the rapidly increasing number of minors crossing the border, but the absolute number of minors is already overwhelming HHS.
Reuters reported recently that the Biden Administration‘s policies, particularly its connivance with criminal gangs and gangs, have contributed to the evil of child trafficking
Child trafficking is rampant in the Mexican city of Nogales, which borders El Paso, Texas, where 5,700 unaccompanied children were registered in January of this year alone.
Traffickers seek to send these children to the United States first, and then the children’s relatives will arrive one by one, and then apply for asylum on the grounds that the children cannot be separated from their families, but many are fake families and fake marriages.
Terrorist infiltration of illegal immigrants is a huge threat
Washington Watch reports that the sheriffs, who are on the front lines of responding to the emerging crisis, note that the threat of drug and human trafficking, deaths and potential “lone wolf” terrorists crossing the border, and the outbreak of the New Coronavirus (COVID-19) are all on the rise.
“We don’t know who the border crossers are,” the National Sheriffs’ Association draft resolution reads. “Foreign terrorists are a huge threat because the nature of the terrorist threat we now face is changing. We have seen overwhelming evidence from abroad that a single terrorist using a vehicle or rudimentary weapon can cause injury, death and provoke fear. The security of our international borders is clearly a matter of our national security.”
Border security or lack of it determines whether it is safe at Home
The National Sheriffs’ Association draft resolution also reads, “Threatening circumstances often change faster than our ability to adapt. Political views only exacerbate the situation we face. We need to remind our fellow sheriffs that what happens at the border inevitably affects public safety in non-border areas. We need more police officers assigned to the border. Investing here is good for the public safety of the country.”
