The seminar brought together more than 50 scholars and independent scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Party School, the Central Party History Research Office, and other institutions to seek the truth and discuss the political, legal, institutional, ideological, economic, and even psychological aspects of the September 13 incident.
At the conference, Wang Luning, son of Wang Fei, who was the deputy chief of staff of the Air Force and director of the Party Office during the September 13 Incident in 1971, presented his father’s situation and thoughts. Lin Liguo’s “small fleet”: that word was originally a joke
I also did not prepare, originally thought that a few sons of the Air Force to get together, did not expect to come so many people, there are some things that are not yet good to say, not yet dare to say. But I think there are some things that I would like to say since it is this kind of talk.
My father, Wang Fei, was the deputy chief of staff of the Air Force and director of the party office during the “September 13” period, and was the direct leader of Lin Liguo, Zhou Yuchi, Yu Xinye, and Liu Peifeng. When I was in the army on September 13, I was a pilot in the 13th division of the Air Force and a co-pilot of a transport plane.
When I heard the message, my feelings must have been different from those here, because these people were all around me, growing up, I was called Uncle Zhou, Uncle Xiao, and Liu Peifeng was Uncle Liu, so they grew up. It’s unbelievable. My impression of these people is different from the documents we heard. Like Lin Liguo enlisted in the Air Force from Beijing University in 1967, at that Time I only know that the Air Force came to a very capable secretary named Lv Guo, we heard before, and later heard some information, are said to be very easy-going, very enterprising, willing to learn or something. At that time, my father felt bad to arrange him to a chief as a secretary, so let Zhou Yuchi take him, called “a help a”, let them organize a research team, there is no specific thing, and he said that some of the more important things in the army you first go to research, check the causes and consequences, to propose some improvement program What. In the “Cultural Revolution“, what “new three armies”, “old three armies” struggle is more complex, more intense, he saw in the middle, also have their own independent opinion.
My father said that the word “small fleet” was originally a joke, a joke when the Party Office people were chatting and bragging, but it turned out to be the “core force” of a “counter-revolutionary organization”. It turned out to be the “core force” and “core organization” of a “counter-revolutionary organization”. At that time, there were two planes going to Guangzhou from the West Suburban Airport, and all those who were on the list of planes were “diehards”, and that’s how they were framed. My father, who happened to be Lin Liguo’s top boss, was given the title of “Lin Biao’s best friend” – he didn’t think it was unjust, because he was very familiar with these people, and he said he had heard about what they wanted to do, or he knew about it. When we talked to him now, he also felt that this “September 13” and these people should actually be divided into two pieces: Huang, Wu, Li and Qiu (Huang Yongsheng, Wu Fa Xian, Li Zuopeng and Qiu Huizuo, members of the Central Political Bureau and the Central Military Commission) may have been unaware of Lin Liguo and the “May 7-1 Project Summary”. know, is wrongly accused. My feeling, like Zhou Yuchi, Yu Xinye, Lin Liguo and their piece, often through the research team found some problems, through their own serious thinking and analysis, and finally they came to the conclusion that the spearhead pointed to the “Cultural Revolution”, to the Central Cultural Revolution, who is the backstage of the Central Cultural Revolution? It was clear at a glance.
“If we don’t solve Mao Zedong, we can’t save the nation from peril.”
So the final hatred of these people – and of course I say “hatred” little by little – was that they felt that they could not save the nation from perishing without solving Mao Zedong. They thought that the Cultural Revolution was the …… catastrophe of the Chinese nation, and that the word “catastrophe” had not come out at that time. In order to stop this disaster, it had to take some actions that are now considered incredible. The “May 7-1 Project Chronicle” was in that state, probably among a few of them came out.
We talked to my father about this, and he told us that he had never seen the “Summary of the May 11th Project” before September 13, but he only learned about it when he was shown the photocopy after he entered the study class. After reading this, he said, “I believe this must be true. He was very familiar with Yu Xinno’s words, and also some of the things he usually said, when they discussed the issue, these contents were said, so he thought it was true. But this later talked about what to murder Mao Zedong and so on, this issue, he felt sure Lin Biao would not know these things, Huang Wu Li Qiu will not know these things, because like the air force Wu commander in the second plenary session of the ninth was criticized, many things are so concerned about the upper side, the bottom of some things still dare to report to him, to him? Impossible. Of course, from another point of view, it is also a relief to Huang, Wu and Li Qiu, they are actually not together.
The key to my father’s involvement in September 13 is that Zhou Yuchi tore up two pieces of paper in his hand after the helicopter was forced to land, one was a handwritten order from Lin Biao, and the other was a letter from Lin to Huang Yongsheng. The last sentence of the letter said, “You can contact Wang Fei if you have any questions. After my father entered the study class, people were also chasing this letter: How did you and Huang Yongsheng finally “meet”? What tasks or what things did you give to Huang Yongsheng?
My father told me that Lin Biao learned about this letter only after he entered the study class, and he did not know about it beforehand. He said he didn’t know about the “warrant”, I said that was impossible, I listened to the documents, there are “Wang Fei pen confession” written by you, all signed by your own hand, I also recognize your words. He said that he had no choice but to say something, when Ji Dengkui and Guo Yufeng told him these things and asked him to write this “written confession”, at least told him eight or nine times, he said he wrote the “written confession” like a schoolboy dictation. I won’t say how many untruths there are in it.
My father after 1981, even after leaving Qincheng, when he was recovering better, once he and I rode to Diaoyutai, to the entrance of the State Guesthouse, I said: “Look, that’s Diaoyutai, the document says, you also admitted that you and Guan Guanglie came here to see the terrain, to organize the Air Division Security Battalion to come here to rush Zhongnanhai. ” My father looked back and forth for half a day and said, “Yo, I just learned today that Diaoyutai is here.” He said he did not even come here to survey the terrain, and did not have to rush Zhongnanhai. At that time it was just a statement, and then the mission was lifted, and there was no such thing. There are indeed untruths in the documents. Lin Liguo and their so-called “small fleet” and the older generation of Huang Wu Li Qiu is a difference. The older ones said during the public trial that we didn’t know anything about these things.
What Mao was really afraid of was Lin Biao and even more afraid of Lin Liguo.
I think Mao Zedong is more afraid of Lin Biao. After the Second Plenary Session of the Ninth Central Committee, Lin Biao did not review his Life and did not admit to any anti-Mao mistakes. The first thing you need to do is to get a good idea of what you want to do. So Mao is not afraid of Huang, Wu, Li and Qiu. Mao is really afraid of Lin Biao and Lin Liguo, more afraid of Lin Liguo. The first thing you need to do is to get rid of the problem. Of course Mao Zedong also want to control Lin Liguo, I have asked Doudou big sister, when why to Lin Liguo to find someone to choose a concubine to make so much fanfare, now the people mentioned are very disgusted, very resentful. She said that it is Mao Zedong proposed to Lin Liguo to find an object, Lin and Ye only scared, said the Air Force who has a suitable, hurry to find one, do not use Mao Zedong to arrange that daughter-in-law. After Lin Liguo research group was established, they have their own ideas. It should be said that they top to Ye Qun, Ye Qun know what they want to do. Together they hoodwinked Lin Biao. Otherwise, it is impossible that Ye Qun received a phone call from Zhou Enlai, and then so hastily on the plane. Now the mystery is simply too much. Including the shot of Li Wenpu that Brother Zhang (Zhang Qinglin) just said.
I asked my father, he was still thinking clearly, he said that after the “September 13” incident, he happened to be in the command post, he said that after the plane left, several of them took turns to look at the chartist marked the trajectory line to report to Li Desheng: where is the plane, where is the plane. -Li was sent to the Air Force by Zhou Enlai. Our radar because of the limited well, out of the country after the plane disappeared for a long time, the radar can not search the target. My father told Li Desheng, now the radar is open, can you except the duty radar open, the other radar will ask to shut down. Li Desheng said, I do not understand the things of your air force, like your own things should be managed, such things do not need to report to me. My father listened to such words. Just like what He Tiejun just said: the air force intercepted an intelligence, because the interval is longer, when handed up, three intelligence into one intelligence, that is: “large target invasion; large target on fire; large target crashed.” My father does not remember very well, it seems that the intelligence came up 20 minutes to half an hour after the target disappeared. Others may not be quite sure how the plane was, but my father said he guessed it all. He said that Lin Biao’s family, including Lin Liguo, was on the plane, and this plane caught fire in the sky, and then it crashed. He then imagined this, but he did not pass this information to Li Desheng. He returned this information to He Dequan, the head of the Air Force Intelligence Department. He said that since Li Desheng had said, you Air Force should handle your own affairs, so you don’t need to ask for advice on everything. This matter was concealed. Later, the story made up in the central document said that the plane landed and exploded and caught fire. My father said that he knew in his heart that the air was on fire, and that the air was on fire before the plane was forced to land.
Lin Liguo and his companions were not evil fascists
Why did Lin Biao’s plane catch fire in the air? When I talked to my father about this issue, I said that I had seen information and books that there were two most likely scenarios.
One is that this plane was tampered with. –When the Kashmir Princess was bombed in Hong Kong, a very, very small micro-bomb was planted, and as soon as the fuel tanks were blown open, the plane would have to catch fire near the fuel tanks. At that time, the Kashmir Princess was at sea, so it was allowed to burn itself slowly, or it was forced to land on any island, or it was allowed to crash into the sea. Some sources say that the 256th plane was refueled at Shanhaiguan, so it caught fire in the sky.
Another possibility, from the information collected now, is that the Soviets in Mongolia may have used some kind of weapon, a relatively light ground-to-air weapon, to shoot down the plane, or a piece of shrapnel hit the plane, and it happened to hit the engine.
I asked my father which was the most likely scenario. –I asked my father which was the most likely, and he dismissed it as a “possibility”.
I would like to make two points about the September 13 incident: the key figures, Lin Liguo, Zhou Yuchi and Yu Xinye, were not vicious fascists. Lin Liguo was with Zhou Yuchi at the time, he was very young, Zhou was the deputy director of the party office, wearing a four-pocket uniform, he wore a two-pocket uniform, the two of them rode around on a motorcycle to research. People only know that he is a driver or a small soldier, follow the head, to serve the head. To where to arrange what activities, he did not want to show up, are backward flash.
Many people do not know this situation, now speak of him, are thought to be carrying a pistol, fierce and fierce kind of people. The same is true of Zhou Yuchi, whose face is also fierce and fierce. late 50s, Zhou Yuchi is Liu Yalou’s secretary, always smiling, a smile two big dimples deep. And these people are very capable, can be literary and martial arts, driving cars, flying planes, 1967 “Red Flag” magazine editorial was written by Zhou Yuchi, it was published. My father said that Zhou Yuchi was from Leting, Tangshan, the poorest poor peasant in the village, and joined the army in the 1940s.
Yu Xinye worked as a Communist Party transport worker in Shanghai at the age of 8. When he finally filled out his file, he couldn’t even write when he joined the revolutionary work, so he finally filled out a 12-year-old and ended up in the army.
Liu Peifeng, the one who followed the plane, my father said, Liu Peifeng Liu uncle that is a genuine college student before the liberation, very capable. To my impression, they are the elite of the elite, ah, both civilian and military. They wrote the “May 7-1 Project Summary”, except for the murder of Mao Zedong, which is a bit too cruel, the other analysis is more accurate.
The “September 13” incident implicated too many people
In addition, I would like to say that the “September 13” incident implicated and affected this matter, the ripple effect is too large, the loss of the army and the party’s work is incalculable.
At that time, I was in the 13th Division, Wuhan troops, also affected by the Air Force “September 13”. A 13th Division transport unit, I should say, was not affected by anything, and our division commander and political commissar were all arrested. Wang Hongzhi, the division commander, was one of the first Chinese pilots who learned from The Japanese in Mudanjiang, the first pilots who flew the transport plane C46 through the parade at Tiananmen Square in the Founding Ceremony, and the one who opened up the Lhasa route and flew over the sky danger.
The political commissar of our division, Guo Xueshi, was also arrested because he used to be Liu Yalou’s secretary and was familiar with the air force. From the deputy division commander to the cadres below the regiment level, including my training brigade at that time, from the brigade leader to the brigade political commissar, all of them were imprisoned. At that time it was called “study class”, now it should be called “double regulation”, four or five people accompanying one, and then a soldier sitting at the door with a submachine gun, guarding the door of your room, no entry and no exit. Our troops were soon taken over by the army, even our brigade is the army, the political commissar are replaced by the army. Our division in Hubei, transferred to the 17th Army of anti-aircraft artillery, both ends of the runway, as long as the aircraft took off and landed on the target, at that time, as long as the exercise, the army immediately with you to do, digging trenches, immediately gun to gun. The air force and the army are pitted against each other in this way, and if guns go off, the consequences are unimaginable.
The good thing is that these troops have the same foundation, the navy, land and air force can recognize the hometown, and finally the army troops and we have a very good relationship, also become a “brotherhood of forces”. At that time, this kind of deployment and arrangement, the intention is more sinister.
“There were too many people involved in the September 13 Incident, and it was so wrong. My father was involved, and he did not regret that he was designated as a “Lin Biao diehard”. He was transferred from the garrison to Qincheng in 1975 and ’76, and he was very desperate. Minister He was also sent to Qincheng, and later I heard him say, “When I entered Qincheng, I heard someone shouting in the prison, and when I heard it was Wang Fei, I was not alone. Later I asked my father, “What are you shouting about inside? They were all little soldiers, you don’t know how to make a good impression? Can’t you behave in a more civilized and polite manner? My father said, “I really can’t. My prison number may be the last one inside, telling us that these people are political prisoners. The political prisoners had a certain standard of Food, and it should be good food, but there was nothing for him, and he was handed Soup and water, and he protested, and the little soldier said, “You are a counter-revolutionary, it’s good to give you this!” My father said, “I’m not a counter-revolutionary, I’ve captured the Japs alive with my own hands, what do you know about that?”
We could go to Qincheng once a quarter to see him. He was no longer a normal person, his body was so weak that he couldn’t walk or talk.
At the end of July 1981. After the public trial of Lin Biao and the Gang of Four, Wang Fei’s task force came to us and said that he would be released on medical parole, and asked our four children to sign the papers. We didn’t want to sign – we don’t have a Home in Beijing, we don’t have a place to live. They said, “You just sign, no place to live, on behalf of the central government, we will arrange a place for you. A week later, we got out. He said he felt very abrupt coming out and going in. The task force arranged a peasant room in Xisanqi through Haidian District, and we paid the rent ourselves.
My father and the others were very miserable, they were not allowed to call themselves by their own names, and they were given the alias “Wang Yu” for medical parole, otherwise they were not allowed to come out. The only way to be reimbursed for Medicine is to be called Wang Yu. Later, I saw that He Long was also called Wang Yu and sent to the crematorium, and it was written on the urn. I asked the Ministry of Public Security: Do you only have a pseudonym “Wang Yu”, and whoever is unlucky will be placed on the head?
In 1994, the General Administration sent a report to the Military Commission to hand my father over to the Air Force. When the General Administration came to talk to my father, my father said: I Wang Fei is Wang Fei, never Wang Yu, you can call it whatever you like, I will definitely be called Wang Fei’s name. Now it is good that he resumed the name of Wang Fei, otherwise, he does not even have his own name. The military commission gave him an approval to arrange a three-bedroom house, 300 yuan per month, to see a doctor in the Air Force General Hospital, according to the treatment of military personnel below the regiment cadres, free treatment. The three-bedroom house was arranged in Nanyuan, very far away and inconvenient. Three hundred yuan until five or six years ago, adjusted to a thousand dollars. He now eats in bed, pulls in bed, wind and candles, without any ability to take care of himself. We wrote to the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the General Administration to improve his treatment, but the reply was: “It has been dealt with and will no longer be dealt with.
My father was only one of the people implicated in the “September 13” incident. Nowadays, even for those who fled for food and wage earners, the newspapers are calling for a higher level of human dignity and warmth, but who has paid any attention to the contributions made by the “September 13” group of people who were shot and shot at? My father has had four brain hemorrhages, and he is no longer alive. I would like to appeal to the large number of people implicated in the “September 13” incident to change their situation and give them human respect.
