Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, Children’s Court Judge Brett Blomme was charged March 17 with seven counts of child pornography, including charges of possession of child pornography that abuses young boys. Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of three years and a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison plus 10 years of supervised release.
The criminal complaint alleges that the investigation found that Blom used the texting App Kik to upload as many as 27 images and videos of children being sexually abused last fall at his and his gay husband’s Home in Dane County. The two have adopted two children, and Child Protective Services is currently involved in the placement of the adopted children.
Blom, 38, was arrested Tuesday (March 16) and was released Wednesday afternoon after making his first court appearance in Dane County and signing a bond. The conditions were that Blom not use social media or file-sharing services or have unsupervised contact with children, except for his own children. Later in the day, the state Supreme Court announced that Blom was suspended from any judicial duties without pay under the high court’s “supervisory and administrative powers” over all courts in the state.
Blom was elected to the circuit court in 2020, defeating then-Judge Paul Dedinsky, who began serving as a judge on the Wauwatosa Children’s Court last August. Although Blom has little to no legal experience, he rode the momentum of the left’s proclaimed campaign for a diverse circuit court to victory as the county’s first openly gay man to run for the bench.
In 2019, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett urged Democratic Gov. Tony Evers to choose Blum, saying, “I’ve known Blum for nearly 20 years. I’ve had the opportunity to watch him grow into a leader and strong advocate for Milwaukee, a man of impeccable integrity and a man committed to making Milwaukee a more diverse and fair place for all.
In the wake of the Bloom scandal, Barrett called the child pornography allegations against Bloom shocking and his arrest “completely surprising.
The pedophile judge is also the president and CEO of Cream City, an LGBT rights foundation that runs the Milwaukee Slipper Queen Storytime for local children. However, as of the early morning of March 18, all articles and references to Blum had been removed from the foundation’s website, but Google‘s search engine is still caching the links and Blum’s Collage page still has details about him.
