German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that at this stage, Germany has suffered a major setback in the fight against the New Crown (Chinese Communist virus) outbreak, Sputnik reported yesterday (17).
“I hope that German educational institutions can find flexible solutions to avoid widespread educational, teaching and learning disruptions.” Frank said.
The recent resurgence of the outbreak in Germany has resulted in more than 1,000 more confirmed cases this week than last week, with 238 deaths in the past 24 hours and 83.7 confirmed cases per 100,000 people across Germany in the last seven days, compared to 59 on Feb. 16, according to Deutsche Welle.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced after a meeting with state governors to extend the national “city closure” until March 28, which has been in place since Nov. 2, 2020.
The German government also ordered the closure of museums and other venues in November last year, but the authorities decided earlier this month to loosen restrictions on Epidemic prevention, allowing some museums, galleries and other cultural venues to open to the public, but the epidemic affects museums and other cultural venues may be forced to close again.
