Zheng Guocheng, a “50 cents” netizen, lashes out at Chinese Communist authorities after drinking
Zheng Guocheng, who lives in mainland China, is a “50 cents” netizen with more than 105,000 subscribers on the YouTube website. For more than two years, he has posted hundreds of videos on his YouTube channel, “China Youth Zheng Guocheng,” mostly containing current political analysis that is anti-American, attacking Taiwan, opposing the Hong Kong protests, and supporting the Chinese Communist Party authorities. However, on March 11 of this year, Zheng suddenly uploaded a four-hour video that fiercely attacked the Chinese Communist Party system.
In the video, a drunken Zheng exposes the corruption and malfeasance of officials in his hometown of Antu County, Jilin Province. He says in an emotional voice that he would rather “set himself on fire” in order to solve the problem of people’s rights in his hometown, and says, “Here, the forest has not been divided for so many years, and it is all corrupt! The State Forestry Administration has a document that everyone is allocated a mountain by household, but it is not!”
In addition to this, Zheng also expressed rather radical views, stating that CCP officials send their children to the United States despite their claims of being anti-American and arguing that CCP rule is inferior to that of the Qing Dynasty. He questioned, “If we think the U.S. is bad, then check from the central to the local level, and whoever’s children go to the U.S., you are a public enemy of the people. Why should I be told in my junior high school politics class that ‘America is bound to perish’ and ‘you can’t go to America’ and all that. I now read a lot of situations, how the children of officials go to the United States? …… All those who go to the U.S. are public enemies of the people, ‘execute the ten tribes’, death by a thousand cuts!”
In the film, Zheng Guocheng also argues with a number of pro-communist netizens. In response to a pro-communist netizen’s questioning of him, he said, “I dress up as a patriotic young man, and I tell you I made over $7,000 in oil pipe income last month, do you understand? I dress up as a patriotic young man and brag about it every day! That’s not how it works.”
The Online Opinion War Around Jung
Although Zheng deleted the video and apologized shortly after posting it to bash the Chinese Communist Party, his actions have been a cause for concern. However, his action has stirred up an online opinion war.
The first people to attack Zheng were Chinese pro-communist podcasters on the oil tube. For example, a pro-communist broadcaster named “Lao Wu” posted three videos in a row on March 11, 12, and 14, slamming Zheng, arguing that Zheng “should not only apologize to his fans” but also “apologize to the country. The company’s main goal is to provide a good solution to the problem.
On March 15, the YouTube broadcaster “wall country anti-thief” Tao released a video saying, “Zheng Guocheng changed his image of ‘fifty cents’ in this four-hour live broadcast. ‘s identity image …… but you can see, he sobered up the next day, deleted the four hours of live, sent a two-minute apology video, continue to operate their own ‘five hair’ channel. “
On March 16, Taiwan’s oil tube broadcaster, “Diary of a Regent” Bajong, also released a video saying that Zheng Guocheng’s release of an Anti-Communist video was “a big joke. So far, the video has been viewed 150,000 times. In the video, Bajong said, “This joke today could be the last straw that breaks the pinkies’ back, making them wonder, ‘What am I believing in? Why is it that even people who believe so strongly in the Communist Party are coming out and calling it names?’ .”
Under pressure, Zheng himself posted a video on March 17 on YouTube titled “Responding to the recent incident,” saying he would henceforth stop drinking in hopes of “turning the page” on the matter. In the video, he said, “I’m sorry and sincerely apologize for the four hours of live broadcast (in which) there were many extreme, wrong and offensive comments, especially in it.”

Zheng Guocheng’s direct reason for attacking the Chinese Communist Party: a dispute between the government and the people over forestry resources in Antu County, Jilin Province
As Zheng Guocheng states in the video, the direct reason for his sudden release of the video against the CCP is the corruption of officials and the dispute over forestry resources in his Home county of Antu.
In June 2008, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council of China issued a document entitled “Opinions on Comprehensively Promoting the Reform of the Collective Forestry Rights System,” stating that “the right to contract for the management of forest land and the ownership of forest trees should be implemented to the collective economic system through Family contracting in accordance with the law. The family contract is implemented to the farmers of the collective economic organization, and the main status of farmers as the owners of the contractual management rights of forest land is established”. Later, in September 2009, the person in charge of the Forestry Bureau of mainland China interpreted this document on the official website of the Chinese Communist Party, proposing that collective forest land should be distributed according to the principle of “contracting by household and per capita mountain”. Zheng Guocheng’s statement in the film that “the State Forestry Administration has a document, and the people are allocated hills according to households” refers to this policy of the Communist authorities.
In June 2018, an article written by Li Dongcan, a villager from Dacheng Village in Shimen Township, Antu County, began circulating online. In this article, Li Dongcan reported Li Mingcan, the mayor and branch secretary of Dacheng Village, to Antu County Discipline Inspection Commission, stating that he had reported to several government departments since August 2014 that Li Mingcan had committed “extraordinarily corrupt, abusive, looting, indiscriminate hair (according to the original, it should be “indiscriminate logging”), theft logging and other crimes. He also said that the previous investigation of Li Mingcan by the Discipline Inspection Commission only revealed his “smallest criminal facts”. In addition, Li Dongcan also said in his article that Li Mingcan had used his authority to pressure the forestry department to transfer Li Dongcan’s plantation to the name of Jin Wenyuan, former deputy commander of the Yanbian Military Region, and injured Li Dongcan’s son.
Since then, Li Dongcan had gone to court with Jin Wenyuan, and in October 2020, the Antu County Court issued a civil judgment dismissing Li Dongcan’s lawsuit against Jin Wenyuan and others for occupying his contracted land to plant trees.
The above examples can be corroborated with the phenomenon revealed by Zheng Guocheng in the film.

Zheng Guocheng sudden anti-communist mentality analysis: officials abuse power under discontent for a long Time
Li Chuanliang, who served as deputy mayor of Jixi City in Heilongjiang Province and joined China’s Democratic Party in exile in the United States last year, said based on his work experience that abuses by cadres from the prefectural and municipal levels to the village level are now quite common across China, while the people’s rights have become a major problem: “From the bottom to the top, why do people reflect so sensitively? The defense of rights, I don’t think any period is as intense as this one, just shows that (cadres’ abuses) are very common.”
Tao, a pro-democracy oil tube broadcaster who participated in the online opinion war, analyzed Zheng Guocheng’s state of mind: “Maybe recently, he has been severely beaten by some of their local officials, or the ‘iron fist of socialism’. To a lesser extent, and then he did not dare to talk about these things in normal circumstances. So he drank and used the strength of alcohol to vent all these things on air. But when he sobered up, he was again fully aware of the ‘trouble’, so he immediately deleted the video in question.”
Tao also said that he believes Zheng Guocheng’s inner discontent should have accumulated for a long time, but even though there was discontent, he still chose to side with the Chinese Communist Party. He added, “But even if he says a lot for the Communist Party, he can’t do anything to become a so-called ‘Zhao family member’ and really make the Communist Party’s ‘iron fist’ not to beat him severely.”
On the other hand, despite repeated attempts to contact Zheng Guocheng on March 17, the reporter never received a response.
