The outbreak of Wuhan pneumonia (novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19) has resumed in Germany. Dirk Brockmann, a specialist at the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), spoke about the recent development in the number of cases and incidence of the disease, saying that the overall number has increased by 20% compared to last week and that “Germany is on the verge of a third wave of outbreaks”.
According to Deutsche Welle, Brockmann pointed out that the resurgence of the Epidemic in Germany is due to the relaxation of preventive measures and the British variant of the virus, stressing that it would be unwise for the government to relax preventive measures, which would only accelerate the “exponential growth” of the epidemic.
“Robert Koch Institute According to data from the Robert Koch Institute, more than 1,000 more people were diagnosed this week than last week, and 238 people died in the past 24 hours, giving Germany an average of 83.7 new infections per 100,000 people in a week, compared to 59 on Feb. 16.
In order to significantly reduce the number of new diagnoses, the German continental governments had planned to hold a joint consultation meeting on vaccination on the 17th, but the meeting was postponed pending the results of the risk assessment of the AZ vaccine by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
