Biden shouts: Don’t come to the U.S., criticized for surge in illegal immigration at U.S.-Mexico border

Three young Central American immigrants, from left, 4-year-old Yoandri, 5-year-old Michael and 2-year-old Yojanlee, crossed the Rio Grande River from Mexico with their families to illegally reach the U.S. border in Texas on the 14th.

The southern U.S. border with Mexico has recently seen an influx of illegal immigrants, including thousands of unaccompanied children, with criticism rising, President Joe Biden (Joe Biden) called on immigrants to “not come to the United States” on the 16th.

In an interview with ABC News, Biden shouted to immigrants: “Yes, I can say very clearly, don’t come here… don’t leave your town, city or community.”

Biden’s interview came only hours after the Secretary of Homeland Security released a statement defending the Biden Administration‘s immigration policies. Outsiders have criticized Biden for abandoning former President Donald Trump‘s hard-line stance and encouraging the wave of immigration in disguise, which Biden dismissed, saying there will be a similar surge in immigration in both 2019 and 2020.

Biden noted that he had recently heard the argument that these immigrants were coming to the U.S. “because they think I’m a good person,” but Biden disagreed with the argument and mentioned that the government is deporting people who cross the border.

The Central News Agency, citing AFP, reported that Biden’s first day in office on Jan. 20 would repeal several of the controversial immigration policies of the Trump presidency, including a moratorium on the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border fence and proposed legislation to try to give nearly 11 million immigrants who are in the United States illegally a chance to gain citizenship.

Republican critics have pointed out that Biden’s immigration policies have caused a surge in the number of immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally.

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) visited the U.S.-Mexico border with lawmakers from his party on the 15th and criticized Biden for creating a “crisis.
