Congressional Democrats are now aggressively overturning the results of Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District. In last year’s U.S. election, Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks defeated her Democratic opponent, Rita Hart, by a margin of six votes.
Miller-Meeks told Breitbart News on Sunday (14) that Hart is trying to overturn the results of last November’s election and disenfranchise Iowa voters.
Miller-Meeks further explained that her opponent is now asking the House Administration Committee, where Democrats hold a 6-3 majority, to overturn the certified election results. A total of 394,439 people voted in the 2020 election in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District, and after a recount, Miller-Meeks still ended up winning by six votes. And Hart argued that 22 Democratic votes that were deemed illegitimate should have been counted, which was enough to give her the win.
Miller-Meeks said Democrats schemed to turn a campaign process that complied with election laws into a political process, a partisan political process.
In her petition to the U.S. House of Representatives, Hart claimed that 22 legally cast ballots were not counted, and that these could have been used to change the outcome of the election. She asked the Democrat-controlled House to weigh in on this and determine the outcome. The move drew the ire of Republicans, who argued that the issue should be resolved by the courts in Iowa.
Miller-Meeks said, “So basically, what my opponent is doing now is asking the Democrats who control Congress to overturn an election that was duly certified, recounted, and then counted, recounted, certified, and to move all of that in her favor.”
Breitbart News obtained a letter written last week by Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Illinois, the ranking Republican member of the House Administration Committee, to the committee’s chairman, Democrat Zoe Lofgren, in which Davis wrote that Lofgren and the other Democrats on the committee are trying to “steal” the election from Miller Davis wrote that Lofgren and other committee Democrats were trying to “steal” Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District from Miller-Meeks.
In the letter, Davis noted that Democrats failed to provide “sufficient notice” for the three Republicans on the committee to “meaningfully participate” and hastily scheduled Miller-Meeks and Hart to answer the House majority’s election challenge on March 22. on March 22.
“The only possible reason for the majority party’s efforts to speed up the process of challenging the election results is that they have decided to take the seat away from the people of Iowa and their chosen representatives and give it to Ms. Hart.” Davis writes that the result is, in fact, undeniable from the majority party’s draft, and that Iowa’s free and fair election and recount process confirmed Rep. Miller-Meeks as the winner.
Davis also wrote that Lofgren’s questions to Hart and Miller-Meeks included a request that they find evidence of “wrongful exclusion” of votes.
Democrats are actively seeking evidence of Hart’s victory. In her letter, Davis emphasized that Congresswoman Miller-Meeks won both the initial count and the recount and was certified as the winner by a bipartisan committee at the county and state levels. It is hoped that the Democratic Party will keep its public promise to work on behalf of the committee, Congress, the voters of Iowa and the American people.
