The Chinese ambassador to France, Lu Shano, asked Richard Li, chairman of the French Senate’s Friendship Group for Taiwan, to cancel the Taiwan mission to the French Parliament that he is organizing. Taiwan’s Executive President Su Tseng-chang today criticized China for blocking even this, which would make the world look down on it; Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Wu Chiu-sup also strongly condemned it, saying that China goes beyond the practices of all civilized countries.
The French media reported today that Roussano said in a letter to Richard that there is only one China in the world and that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China, and that the Friends of Taiwan group’s mission to Taiwan will not only undermine the principle but will also send the wrong message to the forces of Taiwan independence.
