The Expert Committee on the Evaluation of Clinical Events of Viral Vaccines of the Communist Party of China held a meeting today. The committee said that the seven deaths of people who had received the vaccine were not directly related to side effects or adverse reactions to the vaccine.
The committee today reviewed the deaths of a 63-year-old patient who died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital after receiving the vaccine, and the preliminary autopsy report showed that the deceased had severe coronary heart disease and died of myocardial infarction, pulmonary edema and respiratory failure. 55-year-old woman died at Kwong Wah Hospital, and the preliminary autopsy showed that she had a torn aorta and a stroke. The expert committee hopes to obtain a full autopsy report on the 2 deceased before making a conclusion.
The third case, a 71-year-old male deceased, collapsed at Home on March 7 and was sent to United Hospital where he died after failing to resuscitate. He developed severe myocardial infarction and pulmonary edema leading to his death. The committee initially confirmed that the man’s death was not directly related to the vaccine, pending a full autopsy report.
The fourth case of the 70-year-old female deceased suffered from hypertension and arthritis before her death. She suffered from shortness of breath and fainted and was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital for rescue. She had been vaccinated on March 2, and the initial autopsy showed severe coronary artery disease with 90% occlusion of three blood vessels. She died of myocardial infarction and pulmonary edema, and the death of the female victim was not directly related to the vaccine.
Li Zhuo Guang mentioned that an 80-year-old male deceased himself suffered from diabetes, High blood pressure and stroke, he had been vaccinated on March 1, sent to Caritas Hospital for treatment on March 6, when it was judged to be an acute heart attack, found arterial occlusion by cardiac catheterization, and passed away on March 13 after resuscitation failed. Experts are waiting for the autopsy report, but the preliminary judgment is that it is temporarily related to the heart problem and not directly related to the vaccine.
