France 13 reported 29,759 confirmed infections in the past 24 hours; 174 people died. The cumulative number of deaths across France has exceeded 90,000 at 90,315. The number of people requiring intensive care exceeded 4,000, the first Time since Nov. 26, 2020 that more than 4,000 people have been seriously ill. The number of people who received at least one dose of the new crown vaccine in the UK climbed to 23,684,000, with 121 new people reported to have died within 28 days of diagnosis on the 13th, raising the cumulative number of deaths from the disease to 125,464.
The number of untreated cases in the UK is the highest in Europe and the 5th highest in the world, after the US, Brazil, Mexico and India. Today, 5,534 people were confirmed to be infected, a decrease from 6,609 on the 12th, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 4,253,820.
In addition, the Italian Ministry of health announced on the 13th that there were 317 new cases of new crown-related deaths, down from 380 on the previous day, and the cumulative number of deaths increased to 101,881, ranking 2nd highest in Europe, after the UK, and 6th highest in the world, after the US, Brazil, Mexico, India and the UK. Italy hopes that by September of this year, 70% of the population will have received the new crown vaccine.
In Italy, 26,062 new cases were confirmed on the 13th, down from 26,824 the day before, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3.2 million and 1838.
The number of patients hospitalized with the disease, excluding intensive care units, reached 24,153 on the 13th, up from 23,656 the day before. The total number of seriously ill patients admitted to intensive care units increased to 270 on the 13th, up from 226 on the 12th, while the total number of seriously ill patients admitted increased to 2982 from 2914 on the previous day.
