The national media has been dominated for days by the disappearance of Sarah Everard, a 33-year-old woman whose remains have been found in Kent. The case, in which the suspect is now a serving police officer, has shocked British society.
The BBC reports that Sarah left a friend’s apartment last week on the evening of the 3rd and walked Home alone, talking to her boyfriend on the way, but then went missing. The friend’s home is about a 50-minute walk from her house.
Police reviewed the CCTV footage and found that Sarah left her friend’s house at around 9 p.m. and was last seen at around 9:30 p.m. in London’s Clapham district (Clapham), when she was walking on a major road. She can be seen in the picture wearing a green jacket, blue sports pants with a diamond pattern, sneakers, a white woolen hat and a mask, and is talking to someone.
The police said it is unclear whether she finally returned to her home in Brixton (Brixton). After a search, police found the remains in a woodland in Kent on the 10th, later confirmed as Sarah Everett.
The 48-year-old London Metropolitan Police Service (Metropolitan Police Service) police officer Couzens (Wayne Couzens) 9 for the kidnapping and murder of Sarah and other suspects were arrested, the evening of the 12th was charged. A woman in her 30s was also arrested for allegedly assisting in the crime.
The suspect’s identity is a serving police officer, and because although it was not broad daylight, but Sarah’s walk home is actually not too late, her missing Klipphan district security is not bad, but she met with misfortune, triggering social panic.
Kuyenzi’s neighbors interviewed by the British independent television (ITV), said he lived with his wife and 2 children, “looks like a normal, ordinary Family, there is nothing strange.” Neighbors also said that police were digging in the garden of the Kurenz home.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was deeply shocked by the incident and sent his sincere condolences to Sarah’s family and friends, and will find out the truth as soon as possible.
Women’s personal safety has become a hot social issue in the UK recently, with many women sharing their frightening experiences of returning home at night on social networks, tagging “She Was Just Walking Home” (#SheWasJustWalkingHome).
One woman living alone in London posted that what was even more upsetting was that Sarah actually did everything she was supposed to do. She wore bright colors, flat shoes that allowed her to escape quickly, called her boyfriend on the way home, and picked bright roads to walk on, but she still met with misfortune.
London Metropolitan Police said Kuynz joined the police in September 2018, originally precinct in Bromley (Bromley), transferred to the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Squad (PaDP) in February last year, the basic job is to patrol multiple embassies in London. He was not on duty at the Time of Sarah’s disappearance.
