On March 12, the trial of Zhang Chunyi, former Party Secretary of Shandong Police Academy and former Director of the Public Security Bureau of Linyi City, began for accepting bribes.
Zhang Chunyi was accused of taking advantage of his position as director of the Organization and Education Division of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, member of the party group, deputy mayor, party secretary of the Public Security Bureau and director of the Shandong Police Academy, and secretary of the party committee of the Shandong Police Academy from June 2008 to June 2020 to illegally accept property from others, directly or through other civil servants, totaling more than RMB 11.9 million. Zhang Chunyi pleaded guilty in court, and the case will be sentenced at a later date.
