Cuomo accused of sexual harassment by 7th woman again, party calls for ouster

New York Governor Cuomo speaks at a press conference before the opening of vaccination sites on Feb. 22, 2021.

U.S. New York Governor Cuomo was accused of sexual harassment by a seventh woman on February 12. The company’s newest product is a new product that will be available in the marketplace.

The Central News Agency reported that the seven women who accused Cuomo (Andrew Cuomo) of inappropriate words and actions were mostly former assistants, and the complaints included his nasty flirting behavior and hairy hands and feet in the workplace.

The seventh woman to come forward is Jessica Bakeman, a journalist who writes for New York Magazine, who says Cuomo has often put his hands on her, including once at a holiday party in 2014 when he was photographed in front of her I’m sorry, did I make you uncomfortable? I thought we were in a steady relationship.”

Beckman said she thought Cuomo was trying to humiliate her at the Time. I never thought the governor wanted to have a sexual relationship with me,” she said. It had nothing to do with sex, it had to do with power. He wanted to show me that I was powerless and that I was weak.”

New York’s elected U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said in a 12-day statement that Cuomo has clearly lost the trust of his governing partners and the people of New York.

A number of Democratic members of Congress, including U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), who also represent New York, also called for Cuomo to step down.

Reuters reports that more than 55 Democratic New York lawmakers have signed a joint call for Cuomo’s resignation.

Cuomo, 63, repeatedly denied the allegations in phone calls to the media and said it was “reckless and dangerous” for other politicians to call for his resignation without knowing all the facts.

He said, “Women have a right to speak out, and I encourage that, but I also want to make it clear that the truth has not yet come out, and I didn’t do any of those things that I’m accused of, period.”

Cuomo was asked on the 12th if he had ever developed a consensual romantic relationship with any of the women, and he replied only that he never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable, and he was sorry if anyone felt uncomfortable.

Cuomo said at a press conference last week that he was “truly sorry” if his words or actions had been “misconstrued as nasty flirting,” but he denied ever touching or propositioning anyone inappropriately.

The New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said on the 11th that he had authorized the Judiciary Committee to launch an “impeachment investigation” into the matter. Meanwhile, New York State Attorney General Letitia James has announced she will lead another investigation.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said President Biden “certainly supports” the investigation, but also said the Biden Administration‘s vaccination team will continue to work with Cuomo on vaccination operations in New York State.
