The first shortcoming is the inefficiency of basic industries, including energy, logistics, communications, finance and other fields, or to varying degrees of administrative monopoly, relatively low efficiency, relatively high cost.
The second shortcoming is the insufficient size of the middle-income group. The current middle-income group in mainland China is about 400 million people, and it will take 10-15 years to increase to 800-900 million people. After the middle-income group is expanded, only then can effectively expand the consumption of mainland China.
The third short board is the basic research and development and source innovation capacity is not strong.
Liu Shijin said: “To make up the short board of basic research and source innovation is quite difficult, not only the threshold is relatively high, but also requires long-term accumulation. But only by making up the short board can we effectively deal with the external “neck” problem, and mainland China can become a real innovative power.”
