Sixth woman comes forward as Democratic Governor Cuomo’s approval rating drops to 21 percent

A Politico/Morning Consult poll released this week shows New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) approval ratings are in deep water nationwide as he continues to face fallout from the administration’s nursing Home cover-up and mounting sexual harassment allegations.

The survey, which asked 1,990 registered voters nationwide from March 6-8, 2021, shows favorability of the New York governor at a low 21 percent, with 54 percent saying Cuomo is unpopular and 15 percent expressing no opinion.

Specifically, Cuomo’s favorability rating among Democrats is 34 percent, while 39 percent of Democrats think Cuomo is unpopular. 75 percent of Republicans and 57 percent of independents think Cuomo is unpopular.

The Breitbart News reported Wednesday that a sixth woman came forward Tuesday, accusing Cuomo of inappropriately touching her at the governor’s mansion last year. Cuomo, however, denied the mounting allegations and told New Yorkers at a news conference last week that he “never touched anyone inappropriately.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, one of Cuomo’s biggest critics, pointedly told reporters Tuesday that he doesn’t believe the governor’s response to the allegations.
