A good sign! Nancy Pelosi is “the most unpopular elected official in America”

Breitbart News reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is the least popular elected official in the country, a factor that an internal Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) survey found bodes well for Republicans seeking to capture the House majority in 2022.

The NRCC survey in February showed that Republicans hold the House majority in the next election cycle due to their advantage in split districts, but also showed Pelosi’s huge unpopularity among nearly every “key” subgroup, including women, Hispanics and unionized families.

The survey found the 80-year-old speaker to be “the least popular elected official in the country,” with an unfavorable rating of 52 percent and a favorable rating of 41 percent. The unfavorable rating included 45 percent who said Pelosi was “very” unpopular.

Pelosi’s unfavorability rating is even worse in precincts where Republicans appear to have an advantage, with an approval rating of 38 percent and an unfavorable rating of 58 percent. A majority, 51 percent, said she was “very” unpopular.

The survey found that “Pelosi is unpopular with nearly every key subgroup outside the Democratic base, including independents (-21%), suburban women (-8%), white college graduates (-7%), Hispanics (-3%), and even union families (-1%).

The release came as Pelosi previewed her plan to turn the Democratic-led House into what she called a “factory of Democratic priorities. In the past few weeks alone, the House has passed a $1.9 trillion proposal that Republicans say is more about political spoils and Democrats’ pet projects than public health. As well as the Equality Act and H.R. 1.

“They’ll put together everything from election reform to a police overhaul to gun control, plus women’s and union rights and a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.”

The survey was conducted Feb. 24-28, 2021, among 1,000 voters in 85 battleground congressional districts.
