The word “Chunhua” cannot be registered as a trademark
The State Intellectual Property Office of the Communist Party of China (SIPO) issued a notice to a company rejecting its trademark registration application on the grounds that its logo contains the word “Chunhua”. The notice stated that “Hu Chunhua” is a member of the Central Political Bureau and Vice Premier of the State Council, so its use as a trademark is “likely to have adverse social effects” and cannot be used as a trademark.
Some netizens describe this as a modern version of “only the state officials set fire to the people, not allowed to light a lamp”. In the future, Parents for their children to take the name, may also have to be very careful.
