On the Hong Kong Legislative Council election system, former Legislative Council President Rita Fan said in an interview with Shenzhen TV’s “Live Hong Kong and Macau” that the current election system in Hong Kong is not feasible, and she suggested changing the “single seat, single vote system” and implementing a “double seat, single vote system. She suggested changing the “single seat, single vote system” and implementing a “double seat, single vote system”. She suggested that some “unpatriotic” people must be put out of the door.
Mrs. Rita Fan also mentioned that the “two systems” in “one country, two systems”, I think, refers to the economic system, not the political system. If you want to change the political system, you need to go through the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress or for the record before you can implement it.
Rita Fan is a Hong Kong pro-establishment political figure who served as a Hong Kong deputy to the Communist Party of China National People’s Congress and a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, and was the first President of the Hong Kong Legislative Council. In an interview with foreign media during the 2018 “two sessions”, she claimed to support constitutional amendments and the re-election of Xi Jinping (a lifelong office holder).
At present, “patriots ruling Hong Kong” has become the main theme of the Chinese Communist Party‘s policy on Hong Kong.
Xia Baolong, director of the Communist Party’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, emphasized “patriots ruling Hong Kong” at a Beijing seminar on Feb. 22, redefining “patriots” to mean lovers of the Party, and stabbing the bubble created by Deng Xiaoping to hoodwink Hong Kong people with his blatant speech. The Chinese Communist Party is about to change the election system in Hong Kong on a large scale.
On March 4, when the two sessions of the Chinese Communist Party opened, CPPCC Chairman Wang Yang delivered a report on the work of the CPPCC, not mentioning “one country, two systems” but using the phrase “those who love the country rule Hong Kong.
In previous years, the CPPCC work report has often mentioned the 12-word policy of “one country, two systems, Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong and a high degree of autonomy” formulated by former Communist Party leader Deng Xiaoping. But in last year’s report, only the phrase “closely focus on promoting ‘one country, two systems’ to move steadily forward” was left, and this year, “one country, two systems” was not even mentioned.
On March 5, Chinese authorities proposed legislation to strengthen the Communist Party’s increasingly authoritarian control over Hong Kong by changing the Election Committee that elects Hong Kong’s leaders, giving the Communist Party new powers to nominate candidates for the Legislative Council.
In a statement issued through Hong Kong Monitor, former Hong Kong Governor Chris Patten denounced the CCP for reneging on all its promises, including those made by Deng Xiaoping on behalf of the CCP, and for forcing Hong Kong people to become so-called “patriots” and to swear allegiance to the CCP, thereby undermining all aspects of “one country, two systems. The “one country, two systems” promise has been broken.
One country, two systems” has been thrown into the “waste paper basket” by the Chinese Communist Party before 50 years have passed
“One country, two systems” is a constitutional principle proposed by Deng Xiaoping in the 1980s to achieve the goal of reunification. At the same Time, this principle and the promises made by the Chinese Communist government for the post-1997 Hong Kong SAR were written into the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, which is the constitutional document of Hong Kong.
When Deng Xiaoping met with a delegation of Hong Kong and Macau compatriots to observe the National Day in 1984, he claimed, “When we say in the agreement that there will be no change for fifty years, we mean no change for fifty years. It will not change in our generation, and it will not change in the next generation.”
Only by truly recognizing the true face of the CCP can we not be confused by various false appearances. In order to maintain its own existence, the CCP will do anything and everything without any bottom line. It can speak grandly and sweetly.
When it reached the pinnacle of power, it said, “The victor should not be condemned.” And when it languishes in anxiety, it says: “In the face of a formidable adversary, one must be resolute even if one knows that one is outmatched,” presenting itself as a tragic hero with noble motives.
In 1985, the National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China formally ratified the Sino-British Joint Declaration. The Chinese and British governments then exchanged instruments of ratification and registered the Declaration with the UN Secretariat to make it official.
It was not until 30 years later that Chinese Communist Party Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang claimed at a regular press conference on June 29, 2017, “Now that it has been 20 years since the handover of Hong Kong, the Sino-British Joint Declaration, as a historical document, does not have any practical significance, nor does it have any binding effect on the Chinese central government’s administration of the Hong Kong SAR.”
Yuan Bin, a current affairs commentator, believes that it is only 24 years since the handover of Hong Kong, not even half of the 50 years, and the Chinese Communist Party’s policy of governing Hong Kong has changed from “Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong” to “patriots ruling Hong Kong”, proving once again that the Chinese Communist Party is a purely dishonest and dishonest party that does not keep its words. Once again, it proves that the CCP is a rogue party with no integrity and no words!
