The Gateway Pundit wrote over the weekend that the Big Apple is so rotten that people are abandoning it, and it’s well documented that New York City has been crippled by the incompetent, murderous rule of Governor Cuomo and Mayor Bill. But the phenomenon is not limited to New York City; other major cities, such as San Francisco, have seen residents frantically grabbing the nearest lifeboat to escape like panicked passengers on the Titanic.
According to a new report released by the California Policy Lab, San Francisco saw an exodus of residents during the Communist virus pandemic, with a 649 percent increase in the net exodus in 2020. A blogger reported by The Sacramento Bee last Oct. 21 said she and her Family left Sacramento last April and moved to Idaho because they felt uncomfortable and unsafe in California, and even felt bullied about their political preferences.
Where have the exodus from California cities moved to? Some left the once majestic, now shithole cities and moved to the California countryside, while many others, who fled blue California, moved to red ranch states such as, Idaho, Arizona, Texas and Florida.
The Gateway Pundit wrote, “They all flocked to Florida, where a dear friend of mine, a local real estate broker, was celebrating the glory years when his property sold within hours of being listed, and it was still a bidding war. This friend got the money and then bought the property in a new place.”
A large number of moves out of California and New York State can also be seen from the website of the moving company U-Haul (U-Haul). Again, moving from a 1-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom apartment costs $4,295 from California to Florida, while moving from Florida to California costs only $1,595.
Why does it cost nearly $3,000 more to move east than west? It’s a function of supply and demand. There are so many people leaving San Francisco to move to Florida that U-Haul is pricing incentives for people to move to California. There’s even talk of U-Haul shipping empty trucks back to California because there aren’t enough lifeboats left to transport fleeing passengers.
Relocation prices between NYC and Sarasota are very similar. Again, moving a 1-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom apartment from New York to Sarasota on April 1 costs $3,038, while moving from Sarasota to New York costs only $675.
The consequences of this massive population shift would be significant. First is that it would result in lost tax revenue for New York and California and increased tax revenue for Florida and Texas. Second, the congressional seats lost in New York and California would be gained in Florida and Texas.
So are any of the stupid political garbage from the deep blue cities from the North destroying New York City and San Francisco? It’s possible, but The Gateway Pundit doubts it.
A reporter for The Gateway Pundit said, “What I saw in Florida reminded me of the wave of immigration from the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc countries when Eastern Europe was still under Communist control and some people wanted to reject authoritarian politics and emigrated. I met a couple in a pistol class who had just arrived from San Francisco, and I asked the hesitant 70-year-old grandmother why she and her husband were leaving the city. Her answer was quick and concise, ‘It’s a cesspool’.
The grandmother and her husband planned to take a pistol class and then purchase a gun to defend their new Home. The grandmother likes the freedom of Florida.
The Gateway Pundit said, “Bad politics and bad policies have consequences. The American people have freedom of action yet, but are voting with their feet. America is realigning, and I suspect the Democratic Party’s failures in big cities will become more pronounced, not less. And the success of sensible leaders like Texas Governor DeSantis will remind voters that it is vital to vote for people committed to the principles of Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. ”
