The Burmese military government’s bloody crackdown in major cities has left at least 60 people dead, and the country’s influential trade union federation has called a general strike to paralyze the domestic economy for a long Time in order to stop the military’s coup.

Moe Sanda Myint, president of the Federation of Garment Workers Myanmar, said she believes most workers will join the strike, calling on “the people to continue the strike until the dictatorship is eradicated. She called on the people to “continue the strike until the dictatorship is removed.
In response, Reuters called a spokesman for the Burmese military government, but the other side did not respond.
